Illmatic 07-30-2005 07:27 PM

Ohhh. Well, I don't live in Brookline or Weston.

Glitterati 07-30-2005 07:46 PM

Off topic, but "Old Time Rock N' Roll" by Bob Seger is such an awesome song.

Walrus Gumboot 07-30-2005 07:47 PM
Where is this Neil Young you speak of? I got the Zuma and On The Beach, but have yet to figure out how to make use of .rar's
I can zip. them some time for you, I dont have Winrar either. I'll trade some of my Neil young for some of your Neil Young.

We'll be Neil Heads.

Speaking of the Grateful Dead, I recently got a bootleg from them in the Studio in 1965, its really good. I also got the bootleg from the free concert that they did on Haight St. on the flatbed trucks.

Sounds great :thumb: Someday in the near future (not now because I have to wait until I get my mp3 player on the 6th to make sure my computer dosen't crash and loose all of my music, it's starting to show symptoms) I could trade All Things Must Pass for something

I also have the one where The Allman Bros., Arthur Lee, and Peter Green jam with the Dead if you are interested.

Is Revolver not one of the greatest albums of all time?

Glitterati 07-30-2005 09:07 PM
Is Revolver not one of the greatest albums of all time?
I haven't listened to it in a while, I'll have to give it a spin in the ol' boombox sometime soon.

Also, I'm getting a record player tomorrow. Along with a bunch of records.

np: Patti Smith - Because The Night

Everyone in Mass lives a little outside Boston.
Is Revolver not one of the greatest albums of all time?
It is, along with The White Album.

And to Eight Miles High, record players are awsome to listen to classic rock to. The crackling noise in the backround always adds this really cool effect to the song, make it seem more pure.

Lunch 07-30-2005 10:02 PM

My favorite Beatles album is the White Album. There other albums are good, but don't hit me like they hit everyone else. I don't know what it is.

Seafroggys 07-30-2005 10:08 PM

Revolver is pretty good. It has some killer songs on it like She Said She Said, I Want to Tell You, and Tomorrow Never Knows, but there's a lot of songs that are....like....bland to me (Here there and everywhere, the like). It is a good album though.

But to me the White Album and Abbey Road are superior.

rockinbass17 07-30-2005 10:09 PM

Mystery Tour is quite an underrated album, too. I think it could compete with Abby Road and Revolver.

Lunch 07-30-2005 10:10 PM

Actually that's right, I really do like MMT.

magicbus 07-30-2005 10:12 PM

I love MMT.

Lunch 07-30-2005 10:15 PM

"I love MMT. Heads up!"

/Family Guy.

BreakingTheRules-79 07-30-2005 10:39 PM

anybody like AC/DC?
Mystery Tour is quite an underrated album, too. I think it could compete with Abby Road and Revolver.
I love MMT, in fact in my opinion Stawberry Feilds Forever is probally the Beatles best song, if not its in the top 5.

BludgeonySteve 07-30-2005 10:53 PM

Defintily up there wilth their best songs.

*I got off my *** (actually I was on my *** to do it...) and signed up on AIM again, everyone addzor me.

Seafroggys 07-30-2005 11:15 PM
anybody like AC/DC?
No!

Now to keep on subject:

MMT is awesome. I really started appreciating it more when I finally got it for my B-day (it was teh first CD I ever wanted, and now I finally have it)....the title track kicks ***, Flying kicks ***, Fool on the Hill kicks ***, Walrus of course kicks ***, Baby You're a Rich Man kicks ***.........but above all, SFF kicks the *** of all!

Peace!

Favorite Beatles' albums
-------------------------
1. Revolver
2. White Album
3. Magical Mystery Tour
4. Sgt Peppers
5. Let It Be
6. Abby Road
7. Rubber Soul

There has never been a Rock band that has produced 7+ absoulte classics in a row like they did. I think they're easily the greatest band to ever exist. Not to mention how influential they've been to the rest of the world. No one can compare and I'm sure some of the regulars in here will agree.

Lunch 07-30-2005 11:19 PM

The only band I can think comes close is The Kinks, and although they're albums aren't widely accepted as the premier crop of Rock music, they certainly are in my opinion.

Kontroversy, Face to Face, Something Else, Village Green Preservation Society, Arthur, Lola Vs. Powerman and the Moneygoround, Muswell Hillbillies.

I've had some arguments in here about The Who being greater than the Bealtes, and personally I think I made some decent points, but I'm not going to get into that again.

Illmatic 07-30-2005 11:21 PM

The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
The Times They Are A-Changin'
Another Side of Bob Dylan
Bringing It All Back Home
Highway 61 Revisited
Blonde on Blonde
John Wesley Harding
Everyone in Mass lives a little outside Boston.
Not people in Springfield, Amherts, Worcester, Pittsfield, Attleboro, Fitchburg...
anybody like AC/DC?
Who's AC/DC?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 07-30-2005 11:22 PM

That reminds me I need more Kinks. :-/

Village Green Preservation Society is the only one I have but I seriously don't think they could compare to the all mighty Beatles.

Glitterati 07-30-2005 11:23 PM
Who's AC/DC?
I remember that

Lunch 07-30-2005 11:24 PM

I prefer much of the Kinks material to the Beatles, but I'm probably the only one.

I've never heard of them either.

Although that's a mighty fine line up I still don't think they come even remotly close to what the Beatles accomplished.

Badmoon 07-30-2005 11:28 PM

The Kinks do not even come close (NOT CLOSE) to The Beatles, (IMO).

I just watched Barton Fink; there's a movie everyone should watch 10 times, take notes and then attempt to interpret.
