I saw American Beauty with my girlfriend. It wasn't my first time seeing it, but it was her first time seeing it. I am not going to disclose what went on between us during it, so use your own imagination to fill in the blanks, so to speak.

So for everybody who HAS seen it, is it wrong that I was sexually attracted to Mena Suvari's character? I mean, here is a girl who I could not tolerate in real life, a spoiled brat who is, personality-wise, as abrasive and repulsive as can be, and yet I was oddly turned on by her.

I hate that movie so much. Such a bad movie. But...I don't know why it's wrong. SOmetimes you most love what you usually hate because it's so out of the ordinary.

And I know I'm gonna sound like a loser for saying this, but when I watch movies with my girlfriend I prefer to actually watch the movie, so even when she beings to fool around and stuff, I usually don't pay much attention to it. Tonight was an exception, but still.

Really though, it was so pretentious it took away from the film and to begin with it was based in reality, but so fictional it was painful. Just a terrible juxtaposition the way they made it.

If it's a good movie I'd prefer to watch the film, but if I were watching American Beauty I'd be praying my gf would go for something. She likes movies a lot though so if we're both enjoying it nothing really goes down.
