Most of us here love Panopticon. Lately I think I like Collapse more than the self titled.
|
i still think his best song is the one from the split with wheels within wheels. ghosts of haymarket square.
|
Blackened bluegrass **** yeah.
each time i make my mother cry
an angel dies and falls from heaven when a boy is still a worm it's hard to learn the number seven \m/
the production on that song rules, vocoder voice at the end is the gayest thing ever and destroys it though also, not black metal |
Brian and Trent seemed to have some sort of inside joke of trying to fit as many cheesy vocal effects as possible on one album
|
that could be my major unconscious dislike of them
also calling them Brian & Trent makes them seem like a couple of dudes you hang out with smoking at the mall |
the first time i ever robotripped my nuts off when i was like 14 i was at the mall and whenever people moved their mouths these weird industrial noises would come out
and i swore to god Trent Reznor was nearby and had something to do with it |
The first time I robo'ed I was like 15 in my basement with my best friend. I thought like my house was at the bottom of the sea and we were breathing water. He was saying everything was made up of small triangles and couldn't stop doing jumpies (the leg workout where you crouch and then jump straight up).
|
I was just facepalming for like six hours
**** got right on top of me |
No idea, just got bored with it about halfway through. :\
Haven't given it a second listen, though. I probably should. Black metal tends to need to grow on you before you realize how good it is.
Get on listening to that asap, foo. |
Will give the Belketre half of that split another listen today. :p

new xasthur has marissa nadler as a guest musician
i'm curious about this, d/ling it now |
whos that
|
she's an incredibly good looking folk/indie singer songwriter
|
thats odd for xasthur lol
|
lol Xasthur
|
Yeah, I thought the same thing when I read one of her blogs:
I also wanted to let people know that I am singing on an entire Xasthur album that will be out on LP soon. It's all ambient, without words of my own, and was a pleasure to work on. It's some heavy music. Ballads of Living and Dying is a bit dark so maybe I can kinda see her singing on a Xasthur album. |
people can say what they want about Xasthur, but he has some great vocals.

listening to it now, the only decent song is "This abyss holds the mirror". Some nice vocals in the beginning.
Rest of the album is terrible |
