Not that there really needs to be a reason to party, but I saw Duran Duran and John Mayer in concert.Big Bad Voodoo Daddys were there too, and Los Lonely Boys were supposed to play but didnt. I heard one of the guys' wife was having a baby or something. It was pretty cool, I had a good time, and I got to hang out with my super super super super hot friend Heidi all night.

:p that sounds fun... Did you like John Mayer???

:smoke:

JoeDaddio 12-07-2004 08:22 AM

He was pretty good, although I have to admit that I didn't think I was going to like him at all. Alright..... time to pass out again. I'm tired. Have a good night man. Take care.
No problem twopelu, we euros gotta stick together. From the way you described the tone that you're looking for I'd honestly say that the Ibanez might really be a goood match for you. I've played that bass quite a bit and it has none of that typical Ibanez feel(you know, skinny neck, bland body and so on). See if you can at least find one to play, you might be surprised.
Of the two I would still pick the tribute.
Thx a lot, you are so nice. Where are you from by the way?

Ill try one if I can find it. Ill tell you. Are they too pricey?

twopelu 12-07-2004 08:25 AM

OMG Joe has heared the words G&L and has come to convert me into that brand ;)

No, you would need a program that handles animated gifs.

Rollo47 12-07-2004 08:46 AM

Hey All

How are we?

TheIdiotBox 12-07-2004 08:46 AM

Try tinsel. Oh, by the way, are you allowed to have tinsel on your Christmassy avatar if you're not in the tinsel team? Or would I be breaking some kind of yuletide rule? Flea just wouldn't look the same without that tinselly chain...

Rollo47 12-07-2004 08:49 AM

I went out and tried a few more basses today. Details if anyone is interested.

TheIdiotBox 12-07-2004 08:53 AM

Details please.

Rollo47 12-07-2004 09:03 AM

There wasn't as many today.

Yamaha RBXsomething fretless - Nice, played well, but not a great fretless tone.

Spector NS4 - Really nice - looked awesome, played great.

Washburn (I'm just trying to find the model number now) - Good - I didn't like the finish on the body. I'd be too scared to play it, because there's practically no finish, and thus I would scratch the hell out of it. Played well, though. Weird shaped pickguard, and I couldn't really find anywhere to anchor my thumb.

Senator somethingorother - An odd bass, really. Really bassy sound, and I couldn't really work out the control setup for it. Tapping on it was really strange, it felt like the fretboard was really soft or something. Good for slap and fingerstyle, though.

I played a Fretless Yamaha the other day to much the same effect. It sounded like they'd tried to compensate for the fretless tone and make it sound like a fretted, and the result was any slides or bends sounding really rubbery and twangy.

Rollo47 12-07-2004 09:12 AM

Yeah. It sounded like a crappily defretted bass.

twopelu 12-07-2004 09:13 AM

Anybody know how does it work the active/pasive switch on a Tribute L2000?

TheIdiotBox 12-07-2004 09:15 AM

Wintermute, is tinsel allowed for those of us not privileged enough to be in your tinsel team?

Wintermute 12-07-2004 09:17 AM

I'm not going to forbid tinsel to the forums!

jamesr 12-07-2004 09:18 AM

twopelu check it out, I add some xmas spirit to your avatar.

jamesr 12-07-2004 09:20 AM

Wintermute, when is the new mod going to be announced???

Wintermute 12-07-2004 09:21 AM

When I can get Madthumbs' opinion on it, preferably. Then we need to attract mx's attention, which is famously difficult.
