because the way my university does it, is that they sign special deals about getting editions of books before amazon can sell them and wha tnot, so we have no choice but to buy them through them.

Like with my physics book, the textbook was 250, then i had to pay an extra 100 for the lab manual, and since i cant buy them anywhere else until probably next semester (in which case they will have all new books in and these would be useless), they can charge whatever they want. Then when i sell them back at the end of the semster, ill be lucky if i get 50 bucks back total, because most they dont accept because they are getting in new editions.

My school = total ripoff to science majors.

My Physics text was $150, and it's the brand new edition that came out this year..that sucks man.

yeah when i was in germany it was costing me like €80 total for the semseter, but what happens is a lot of the professers at my uni in the US write these texts, so they want you to buy them, so they get the bling for it.

My dad had to deal with a professor like that. Every book used was written by the professor, and six out of the seven were basically rewrites of the big first book he was well-known for. They were all expensive and they were all really terrible.

I have that as well, all the professors want you to buy THEIR books, when you hardly even use them. I think I spent over €400 on their books.

man, I have that to look forward to in a year or so...

I'm 16 and I still can't hang onto a girl for more than like, 5 minutes. Plus, I'm immature, therefore, I think this could be why young folks don't have long term relationships.
