neal_672 11-19-2004 04:56 PM

I prefer playing footy, but generally think rugby is more interesting to watch...

cliffburtonrules 11-19-2004 04:56 PM

I wouldn't know if rugby pwns football...... don't live in England. Ok see ya all later MX im gone for the weekend!!!!!!

Wintermute 11-19-2004 04:57 PM

I honestly forget which one is which. The one where you get a set number of tackles before you change possession, that one's crap. The other one is a great sport, as long as I don't have to play it, or fraternize with those who do.

Remember that when most of these people say football, they mean American Football, not footy. You know, wuss rugby?

peeted 11-19-2004 04:59 PM

you have a set number of tackels in both

Yeah i don't know the difference between the two either... Not sure i really care either... If i played it i think i'd die, don't have the body mass

Ah yes of course, i forget this is a primarily american website...

Spaceman Spiff 11-19-2004 05:02 PM

all i know is that rugby is a lot more violent, and therefore, is better.

but in my opinion, most sports suck except for baseball.
most, not all.

neal_672 11-19-2004 05:03 PM

W00t basketball rules too, although it's not as big in the Uk...

Wintermute 11-19-2004 05:04 PM

I find almost all sports to be lacking in grace and finesse. Except fencing. Yay swords!

Spaceman Spiff 11-19-2004 05:06 PM

fencing isn't a sport, it's a way to legally "accidentally" kill someone in front of a large audience. :)

Hmmmm i play Football (soccer for y'all from the US), basketball and i go surfing too. never tried fencing, looks cool though...
fencing isn't a sport, it's a way to legally "accidentally" kill someone in front of a large audience. :)
Football is much more dangerous than fencing. People are always breaking bones or tearing ligaments, and someone died the other year. No-ones died in fencing for the last 80 years.

Neal - where abouts do you live? South coast, I'd guess?

Spaceman Spiff 11-19-2004 05:12 PM

yeah, i actually remember this one football injury where a guy had his knee bone come through his skin.

neal_672 11-19-2004 05:13 PM

Nope North-East near Middlesbrough. I go to the South every year for my holidays for surfing purposes. Until then it's the freezing North Sea :upset: I broke my leg playing football when i was 11, then stood up on the broken leg because of the adrenalin rush and the bone nearly pierced the skin and went as this dodgy angle :upset: x 1000000

Dieforitall89 11-19-2004 05:14 PM

Hey guys.

JoeDaddio 11-19-2004 05:15 PM

In my first season of Rugby a guy on my team charged through some dude with his elbow out in front of him and hit the guy in the face. His cheek bone on the right side was busted in, and that whole side of his head had a dent in it that sunk in about as deep as his eye socket. That was one of the most insane things I have ever seen.

Wintermute 11-19-2004 05:20 PM

My year's Rugby team had a couple of broken bones, dislocations and one nasty torn abdominal muscle.

Spaceman Spiff 11-19-2004 05:50 PM
