br3ad_man 09-15-2006 01:38 AM

Just got home and realised I have finished exams for the term and basically the year. I'm going to a local show thing tonight yay.

Kyle 09-15-2006 04:18 AM

The Datsuns rocked last night \m/

Little Man being Erased 09-15-2006 04:20 AM

edit: told you they would. :)

I'm going to see Expatriate and Something for Kate tonight. Should be alright. Basically I'll go see just about any band that tours here because nobody good ever does. Should be fun though, a heap of friends are going.

:chug:

br3ad_man 09-15-2006 08:42 AM

Something For Kate are pretty nice, I think. I tried to convince my friend to go see them but she wouldn't. I saw The Winnie Coopers and Starky tonight. Winnie Coopers were awesome as usual, Starky were pretty good too.

Glitterati 09-15-2006 12:44 PM

RHCP and The Mars Volta were stark raving nuts last night.

pixiesfanyo 09-15-2006 03:02 PM

Does that mean terrible?

Glitterati 09-15-2006 03:55 PM

no it means they were really awesome and frusciante did a cover of london calling and there were some sweet jams in between.

Kyle 09-15-2006 07:34 PM

RHCP were really good when I saw them too. Did they play Me and My Friends? Because if they didn't, then;

my gig > your gig

Glitterati 09-15-2006 07:36 PM

they sure did!

all in all a great night. except when me and my friend left the venue we got lost and wandered around about half of vancouver at about eleven at night.

YDload 09-15-2006 07:39 PM

I didn't think they still played anything that old, that's amazing! "Me And My Friends" > "My Friends" by a longshot.

Kyle 09-15-2006 08:00 PM

Yeah, to be honest they basically played stuff of the last 3 albums when I saw them.....But that just made Me And My Friends all the more cool. John and Flea are great performers.

Did Frusciante cover any of the following?

Maybe - The Chantels
How Deep Is Your Love - The Beegees
Tiny Dancer - Elton John

Also, did he do any of his solo work?

Also, did he play with TMV?

Kyle 09-15-2006 08:19 PM

Oh yeah, how were TMV?

And it's soooo cool when John plays How Deep is your Love!!

Glitterati 09-15-2006 08:55 PM

he didnt do any of those covers, but he did one solo song i didnt recognize. TMV were great, Cedric and Omar were going nuts on stuff. And yes John played with them.

Hedgedive 09-15-2006 09:33 PM

Do you remember the setlist? Like was it mostly Amputechture stuff, or did they do old stuff too?

Glitterati 09-15-2006 10:06 PM

mostly stuff from Deloused, like they opened with Haunt Of Roulettes, which was awesome. I haven't heard their new one yet, so I'm not sure if they played anything from that.
