I'm pretty pleased with Winds of Creation so far. Great songwriting and feel. How does Nihility compare?

yeah, I listened to a song or two on Nihility and it didn't sound completely different, I just didn't like the feel as much. If it does have similarities to WOC then I could see myself enjoying it at times.

it's very sterile and 'clean' death metal which is very modern in style, winds of creation, which not old school or anything atmospherically and song wise has nothing in common

If someone showed me Nihility and I didn't know who it was, Id think that it sounded a good amound like WOC era Decapitated, from what I've heard of it anyways. Maybe I need to listen to the whole album.

I know what you mean about sterile, clean death metal. Its almost a turn off when death metal bands have "perfect" or "glossy" production. Theres a happy medium in death metal between terrible and great production. Perfect is Obscura. One reason why Onset of Putrefaction is a better album then Epitaph. Also because well, its just a better album.

I'm not saying it's better or worse because of it or any one style is superior to another

even though its perfectly obvious evil filth is far better

I love the riffing on WOC, but I love Vitek's more developed playing on Nihility. "The Negation" to me is the goldilocks album, since it incorporates a little of the older single note riffing style with Decapitated's more recent love of chord riffing.

yeah it's great, it's just as good as their first but doesn't have that slight fuzziness in the production, making it more listenable

not well at all. as said before, its very sterile sounding, makes it a chore to listen to for any length of time. the music isn't terrible, but i feel it was a step down from WoC
