Ha ha. When I made my hockey video this morning it was like my 20th take, I kept catching the ball wrong and it span off and hit things.
I want to get a new instrument; I'm stick between banjo or lap-steel. Both are pretty cool, but lap-steel will be easier to get better at quicker. What to do, eh? Suggestions?
BANJO, Seriously, If you get to be able to play it fast, they sound so cool. |
Hmm
Zowe stole 40000 :(
Does that make me cool, does it. does it? /gets all giddy :upset: |
Does that make me cool, does it. does it?
/gets all giddy :upset:
lawl, Nerd. So what's everyone up to. I'm pretty bored. |
BANJO, Seriously, If you get to be able to play it fast, they sound so cool.
yeh, but lap-steel means more floyd-ey moments, and I don't like normal slide playing, as I have REALLY wide knuckles, and most slides don't find round my finger. Plus, my guitar has REALLY low action. But yeh, banjo would be cool, but I think a lap-steel would get more use. |
lawl, Nerd.
So what's everyone up to. I'm pretty bored.
I'm just listening to some albums for THE LIST. Currently Goodbye Yellow Brick Road NP: Elton John - Sweet Painted Lady |
ITT: I just found out I aren't gonna get my tattoo finished for another month, The guy who is doing it is fully booked till then :upset:

What's your tattoo of?
Looks like you've already made the desicion.
Well, herein lies the crunch: I could get a banjitar. It's a banjo, but with six-strings, and played exactly like a normal guitar. Which means it would mayhaps get more use than a regular banjo would, coz I wouldn't have to wait till I'm a decent-ish level to start using a banjo in a band environment. I could always get both, but then they'd be pretty bad, quality wise. |
lawl, Nerd.

Pic of it. It needs colouring it black and shading done :upset: |
Go with the lap steel, i'd love one, could play some awesome japanese style stuff, only reason for a banjo is Pub bands that cover sweet home Alabama :p.

AND the scrubs theme song :p But seriously, I'm quite the folky, I love traditional scottish folk music (and irish, to some extent), so I could indulge all my Billy-Connoly-With-The-Humble-Bums fantasies. Or, I guess I could get both. A banjitar is 170, and you can get lap steel for under 100 quid. But that would mean not getting that nice Peavey Rockingham I've got my eye on. I'm digging single-cut semi-bodies at the moment. Oh, for the day I'm enough of a Rock God to warrant splashing out on a White Falcon I! |

HAHHAHAH Emily!
BANG was it just the lightbulb that broke? |
 at herb, next attempt to include beat boxing?
Gurs: Damnit yeah the scrubs theme is big bonus points for the banjo, so it might be a good idea, still the Lap steels a bit less common i just feel you could be more original with it, and it could be more interesting. |
HAHHAHAH Emily!
BANG was it just the lightbulb that broke?
Well nothing broke it just... stopped working :-/ The weird thing is it's 4 lightbulbs all connected... but they ALL stopped working. |

Yeh. I think I'll get a cheap'n'cheerful lap off'f ebay and get a Vintage banjitar - afterall, vintage do decent-enough instruments for cheap. I'll just pray that, if I get fantastic A-level grades, my rents' will reward me with a that peavey. Maybe. Hopefully. NP: Elton John - Your Sister Can't Twist (But She Can Rock 'n Roll) |

The weird thing is it's 4 lightbulbs all connected... but they ALL stopped working.
That happens alot to us, when one goes, we have to change them all. Gets a bit annoying |
Ha no I've been doing poi longer... but by the video... you wouldn't be able to tell :p
yeah i thought as much, still no harm in trying :p
Yeh. NP: Elton John - Your Sister Can't Twist (But She Can Rock 'n Roll)
I played a couple of vintage guitars when i was looking for a cheap lp copy, and they seemed decent enough, pups weren't all that great, but the guitar was pretty solid and well made, plus it might turn out you won't stick with one of them so it's not that much of a waste. On a random note, i'm eating a bowl full of strawberries and raspberries, yummy :) |
Holla, all.
I just got lent six more cd's to help with THE LIST. Score! NP: Syd Barret - Terrapin (I never told you guys about the list, did I?)
wth is THE LIST? |

Not too much. My ankle is hurting. We played a game a bit like musical bumps, except using rock, paper scissors (everytime she shouted out one, we had to get into that postition, last person is out). I did paper (fell to the floor to make a flat shape) and crushed my ankle on the floor :(
You? |
Haha, well done. Where was this?
Yeah, pretty good thanks. Truckfighters are making a new album :D ran through my pieces for saturday a few minutes ago, they're pretty damn good. I'm chipping away at my scales as well and I had an encouraging aural lesson earlier. And also, finally got a proper band practice booked for this thursday :D at proper rehearsal rooms too. MOTIVATION FTW! \m/ |
wth is THE LIST?
I was wainting for someone to ask :) Well, I go this book: 1001 albums you must hear before you die. Me being me, I took this as a personal challenge (which, really, tells you all you need to know about me :p) After spending 2 weeks typing the albums in the book up in list form (in the book, the albums are presented chronologically; in my list-version, alphabetically), and am know making my way through the list. When I started, mid-January, I had already heard 31 on the list. I've now heard 154 :) NP: Elton John - Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting. Feel free to ask if YOUR favourite album is on the list /cheesy american style |
