Anytime :) You making a comeback as well? Like I said before, seems like MX guitar is picking itself up again...

Yup. 2nd year, when shit gets tough :P Getting involved with the ice hockey team as well which is pretty mint. Downsides are that Newcastle Uni Electronics department are showing more fucking flaws than ever. And Merz court isn't getting any prettier :P

How about you man? You left newcastle 2 years ago, right?
Yeah I left 2 years ago, i think, meh it's all fuzzy.

You still in Halls then? hows that work?

The_Mop 02-19-2010 04:38 PM

Nah. I live in heaton now. I was in hendo last year, moved to leazes towards the end of the year cuz hendo's a craphole. Where I live now is pretty cool but it's annoyingly far out, and annoyingly near hendo.

Kinda wish I was in halls, leazes was mint. Wouldn't be the same though, don't have any friends there now :P

AG 02-19-2010 04:43 PM

Do You Know Andy Ward (Joy Criaghead s his biatch)? He owes me £120. The cunnt wont pay upo.

Sup lod. My brother showed me this website http://audiomap.tuneglue.net/ Search for a band, click the node then click expand and it shows you similar bands, it even has Periphery and Bulb listed as similar to Meshuggah.

Also, I'm going to see Shutter Island later, hope it's good.

Not bad, still has a few slip ups in there. Type in The Offspring and then clicked on Zebrahead (never heard of them) and I get crap like Yellowcard, I hate kate, and Bowling for soup.

Which is crap, crap, and crap with one maybe two good songs. No way are they that close to The Offspring. I also lulz at Anti-Flag being attached to Rise Against.

edit: Maybe it works for what you like. Though I'm finding once you throw in a pop group it throws in other pop groups, which tbh sound nothing like original pop group.

Also, Eric Clapton was in too many bands/compilations. The first expansion didn't even encompass them all. To find The Yardbirds I had to expand Cream.

Yeah metal works pretty well. Maybe pop is just too easy to lump bands together if they vaguely sound similar. If I put in a pagan black metal band I can be sure that expanding will get me more pagan black metal bands lol.

Shutter Island was awesome, creepy as hell.

purple_hazer 02-20-2010 01:25 PM

dear nerd lod, neither of my mic inputs on my comp work after goin to best buy for a clean up

wha hapend?

Royd Rage 02-20-2010 01:26 PM

yeah tuneglue i just tried it it worked well at first than i typed in "cold" and the bands connected to them didn't make any sense. staind,earshot,10 years?

Left Face Down 02-20-2010 01:28 PM

@purple_hazer

Drivers

Best Buy disconnected something and didn't know how to properly reconnect said something. Though really the mic input on the back (if it is on the mobo) should work even if the wire to the front mic ports aren't connected. If it is a sound card, then definitely update drivers.

Check to see if you have to turn something on in the program that controls your audio. If you don't, and either way, make sure the mic in isn't muted in Windows sound control.

... that's all I can think of right now.

AG 02-20-2010 02:07 PM

Ung, Dead Space is epic fail.

/returns to CXe

Left Face Down 02-20-2010 02:50 PM

I enjoyed it, past the fact the suites looked about as attractive as dog poo. Don't feel like it was a waste of my $16 bucks.

AG 02-20-2010 02:56 PM

Nah, I mean it wont play.

Imma return it.

/shouldn't buy 2nd hand PC games.

Left Face Down 02-20-2010 07:32 PM

Not when a new version will run you $10-20. Stop being REALLY cheap AG. That is like 13 pounds max. If they sell the game for exact USD to GBP ratio at this current moment.

I'd say Staind is pretty similar to Cold, haven't listened to the other 2 bands though.

Royd Rage 02-21-2010 01:23 AM

you have to see this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfOddwK7x3E

mash-up of lady gaga's "paparazzi" and meshuggah's "bleed"

LOL

i have to admit, the chrous part works...

EDIT: omg this one is even better LOL :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfukZyVi9Hk

Kuffuffled 02-21-2010 04:48 AM

Dead Space was pretty good but apparently it was ported from xbox to pc.. in that case it was pretty sloppily done, and of course another EA game that doesn't know what to do if your Documents is relocated to another spot / partition

Left Face Down 02-21-2010 05:28 AM

Dear Nerd Lod,

Got my Core i7-920 (2.67Ghz stock) processor at 3.4Ghz pretty stable. Just ran 75 passes of LinX with great stability and CPU temps maxing out at around 62 C. If it can survive a good 10 hours (I'm going to sleep) of prime95 then I will say it is stable as a can be.

Dusted out my laptop as I can't really do anything when running tests on my desktop. Damn temps dropped 20 C after dusting the bitch out. Haven't done it in about 2 years. The keyboard still needs to be replaced seeing half the time it doesn't want to count the buttons in the e, d, r, x, etc. general area. But I'm too lazy to take it to best buy and have them ship it out for like a month.

The_Mop 02-21-2010 06:14 AM

Dead space was proper average. Predictable and samey but somehow keeps you a little interested....

Sup the lod. I've gotta do programming today. Fucking yay.

AG 02-21-2010 06:17 AM

I just downloaded Sniper Elite, Secret of Monkey Island SE and Portal. Excellent.

Also, Dead Space was £6 from entertainment exchange. It's easily £15-20 new.

Sad But True 02-21-2010 07:29 AM

Portal is so much fun.

Why did you even buy it?

Portal is awesome, should be interesting to see the portal gun in HL2:Ep3

i hate pc games and hate playing games on pc

i said it

The_Mop 02-21-2010 09:46 AM

That is, if Ep3 ever gets bloody made. As Yahtzee said, valve seem to have missed one of the critical points of episodic gaming - little and often :P

AG 02-21-2010 09:47 AM

Remember when you guys said portal was awesome

and I was like no wai

And then I played it and I changed my mind.

Squirrel 02-21-2010 01:01 PM

torrents ?

AG 02-21-2010 01:54 PM

I completed the story mode about an hour ago. Excellent game.

DKFH 2 is torrentable, just no-one seeds.

Left Face Down 02-21-2010 02:27 PM

Portal was very awesome. Though I love puzzle games, which was generally the basis of that game.

To each his own I guess...

P.S. - After 75 runs of LinX and about 12 hours of Prime95 small FFT I'm calling my i7-920 stable at 3.4Ghz and RAM at 1300Mhz (underclocked) 7-7-7-20-1T.
