Music-wise, I'm fond of both albums, but it's definitely Messiah's vocals that make the clear distinction for my love of it.

At the Gallows End almost makes the album for me.

Yeah, that's a great song. WoR were going to cover it on the new album, but decided against it. :p

What do you think of Mercy (SWE), metal-militia? It was Messiah's band before Candlemass, I recommend you get Witchburner if you haven't already.

It's definitely better, the S/T is pretty good but the new one has much better songs all around.

I haven't heard them but I will check them out.

I like [I]Ancient Dreams[/I], but no where near as much as the first two.

I don't think Mercy is anything special but, again, I'm not a huge fan of Messiah.

There are like 8 tracks, and 6 of them are 30 minutes or more.

And the majority of each track is the same riff repeated.

Yes dude, this album rules. I stumbled upon it randomly on Metal archives and never looked back. Great, depressing atmosphere and a really unique sound. I love it. So dark and brooding.

A fantastic album indeed. When I first heard the name 1000 Funerals I thought it would be gay, but I listened to the music and it was phenomenal.
