Just a 'I'm bored so info on me right now' update for everyone.
Band is going fine, we talked to the guitarist and everything is cool. We're still gonna try to get a second guy anyways to broaden our **** out a bit.

Anyways, I talked to Mark (main booking at El Torreon), and he said the PA show was a bust.
only 55 people showed up, which isn't bad, but when you consider they needed 200 to pay for the PA (at $10 per person), that sucks. So I said if they do a part 2 to let me know and I could probably get bigger bands.

So all in all, it looks like I might be booking my first actual show! It'll be tough, I gotta get some big name locals and convince them to do a part 2 for free, but if I do it'll be so rad.

Where is this concert being held?

If you are only playing for 50-60 people you could proably get away with just running vocals through a PA, you wouldn't have to spend so much.

Ok, lemme explain.
The concert (PA benefit) already happened. I'm trying to arrange a part 2.

It took place at El Torreon, host to all sorts of 'popular' Metal and Hardcore shows.

THE spot in KC for heavy music.

Their speakers on their sound system were blown, and it cost $2000 to re-cone them.
This was an effort to raise money to pay for that (they already did it, now just trying to cover costs), and it didn't work out so well.

I'm trying to arrange a part 2 with better bands.

And there's no escaping paying for it, it's already done and was needed.

Upcoming shows there (to show what kinda bands): Evergreen Terrace, Dredg, Summers End, HORSE the Band, Madball, Walls of Jericho, Winter Solstice, etc etc.

you should have cheap lil things at the door and put up flyer's and etc, ive gone to a few gigs out of boredom and wanting the cheap thing at the door, so i really wanted a kazoo...so what, lol

well whenever we play shows we do fliers everywhere. Go to shows and hand 'em out, go to bars, I hand them out at work, on the street, everywhere. That's what you gotta do to get people to hear about ya...

Ok ok ok! My singer came up with this shirt idea at a GWAR show about 2 weeks ago.

On the front (the picture is in black and white), typical sad beautiful emo girl laying up against the wall, in her hands and around the floor, blood all over (this might be red to greatly contrast it).
On the back: "I miscarried at the Lufthansa Heist show!"

Anyway, I'm 16, living in Belgium, uhhh and I currently got a crap drum which I modified a bit but in a few days I'm buying a new set. If my uncle decides to loan me the money, that is :/.

I'm also in a band with 2 of my best friends, both guitar players (although one of them used to play Bass). Thats about it :P

I stayed up late watching Sin City (which was.....interesting) then my dad woke me up early. (And by early I mean like 10:00 which isn't really early but I'm lazy)

Oh I has it worse. I stayed up till 4:00 tryin to sleep and then woke up at 8:00 becuase I had early drum lessons.

Haha I get 2 more hours of sleep than you!

Jeez, I'm in one of the oldest groups in the school and still those little buggars are so cheeky....

AND to top it off, my music teacher is trying to avoid letting me play drums...
I feel sad now :upset:....Well, it's my fault anyway....
Then, I lost my bus pass, which I haven't even had for a day....

I remember like one month into my lessons I wanted to quit lessons and teach myself becuase I didnt think I was progressing. I'm so glad I stayed I got so much better.

well my internet stopped working for a few days there, and now it's working again i guess... oh well.

hmm, i went out partying monday night, was great fun. i drank a little too much, but no vomiting was needed.

well now i think i'm gonna go shower, work on stick control for a while, and call up my band to practice today, it's been a while.

Well, I just came home from my first day at hell, I mean, erm, high school.

All to find that my dad totalled, his 2004 Suburban, he's had for only 1 1/2 years, which pisses me off, because that was the greatest car ever... Well, on a side note, high school isn't all that bad, but considering it was just freshman...
