Haha you know I'm joking.

xxxwookie 08-21-2004 01:01 AM

Yep, working is pissing me off too! I've been working for 6 weeks now and still not been payed! Thank you Punch Taverns. It's a shame cause the boss is a friend of mine and I don't blame him.

The most annoying part is that They've not sent me a tax form so I'll get charged tax now (Students are exempt from tax (Except National insurance) as long as they fill out a form supplied by their employer) but I can get a form to reclaim that tax but that takes ages.

On the upside, I'm getting about £1000 (Minus tax deductions) in one lump sum. Bass guitar anyone? I probably shouldn't but I saw a Spector Professional series Q4 for £299 and am sorely tempted.

Other upside is that I've done 2 extra days this week so my boss has given me Monday and Tuesday off and I don't work wednesdays so I'm off until Thursday now! :D Going to Derby for a couple of days to see my ex-Girlfriend [Goldmember]Izhn't zhat veerd?[/Goldmember]

Everyone have a nice weekend and cheer up Hex! :) Just try and convince yourself it could be worse! You could be your brother for example

DDanDevious 08-21-2004 01:43 AM

whoa, that chick is psycho.

in other news, I got about 8 more days till I get back to the states. and to my new amp and bass. Things are good.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-21-2004 01:57 AM

where do you live in the U.S ?

Jim Hull 08-21-2004 02:34 AM

Well, I'm trying to download the DirectX SDK but its going to take 2 hours! I also have to tidy up the house today as I have some friends coming over for dinner tomorrow night. I dont know what to cook? Or I might just order a take away.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-21-2004 02:40 AM

cook, some indian food if you got the know how, that suff is amazing, if not, try some mexican lasuanua, or the standard hot dogs n' maccaroni/baked beans.

scottkdash 08-21-2004 02:44 AM

i've been struggling with everything. my new bass rig is actually unusable due to electrical interference so i have to spend out more money for some kind of soloution. i am socially inadequate and i'm panicing all the time. my life is just one big frown after another.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-21-2004 02:50 AM

bass rig? what kind of interferance? if its the hissing, just turn down the treble a bit. and check all groundings, and see if it stops hissing when you touch the strings.

popinfresh 08-21-2004 03:01 AM

I got work experience at a music shop, and hopefully some part time work after.

Wurd.

scottkdash 08-21-2004 03:31 AM

the treble slider is on 0. what do you mean by groundings??? it stops hissing when i touch the strings but hisses like crazy when i play a note especially the open ones. i took it to the shop again and it was good there, but i live near hills and the power in my area is dodgy as. :< so i think i need to get some sort of device that can protect against emi interference.

popinfresh 08-21-2004 03:35 AM

It's your basses pickups.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-21-2004 03:52 AM

ah, arent you the guy from south africa?

that explains every thing. power isnt the same as america/austrailia in terms of reliability, india was a neigtmare in terms of electricity, even in freaking new delhi.

Alma 08-21-2004 04:00 AM

i hate it how the power voltages are different for countries, means us aussies cant import amps and cabs

popinfresh 08-21-2004 04:10 AM
i hate it how the power voltages are different for countries, means us aussies cant import amps and cabs
But half the time it wouldn't be worth importing. It cost me like 300 bucks to ship a bass, plus 200 bucks import tax.

Now, think how big a 4x10 would be compared to a bass shipping wise. You'd be looking in very high houndreds to get one shipped. I've heard of someone importing a cab and a head from USA, that cost him over $1000. Around $1500 i think.

Considering something like a ampeg 4x10 is $1700. Not worth it.

scottkdash 08-21-2004 04:13 AM

i'm an australian. but the guy at the shop said that australian appliances are 240v and perth is 250v or something. and its not my basses pickups i don't think cos it was ok at the store except only some minor electrical disruption. i'm gonna get some kind of protective device and then if it still occurs look into having them fix it.

JoeDaddio 08-21-2004 04:21 AM

Someone get on AIM, ****it. I'm bored as hell. Amuse me!

I don't have aim, nor know what it is really. I know it's a chat thing... but meh, messenger's better
i hate it how the power voltages are different for countries, means us aussies cant import amps and cabs
we can. we just have to be selective about what amps we choose. Some manufacturers have a voltage selector on the back. ;)

JoeDaddio 08-21-2004 04:28 AM

For Eddie The Trooper.... I found your bass http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=64401&item=3743128757&rd=1

I have no job as I study, but we have summer break, and all I have to do now is looking after my parents house, as the are on holiday. Worst thing is, I don't have my bass and amp here, so I have barely played in the last week... :upset:

But I'm home again on monday, back with my bass! :D
