Just posted in Dream Theater's poll thread, only to see that immediately after I posted it was closed. Please don't ban me, mods! I meant no infringement of the rules by posting there.

^Dream~Theater^, calm down with the flaming a bit. It's alright to an extent, but in every thread I close I see an unnecessary flame that is something like "Go kill yourself you stupid noob."

Ask in the site forum. You'll need to ask Double Bass Jim though it may be a while before he gets around to it, if he agress to do it that is.

Chances are he won't, especially if the reason for you wanting the merge is your old account(s) being banned. He's rarely made exception since the last Parole thread.

i am assuming that mods regularly read this thread and i have a 2 suggestions

1 there needs to be a keyboard articles section
2 there should be a stickied thread with all the important/popular threads such as all of the official threads and that trading albums over AIM thread

The only way to get it changed is to ask Double Bass Jim in the site forum, though I imagine that the chances are that he won't do it as you don't have a high post count and an old join date and a lot of rep points. The easiest option would be just to sign up under a different user name.

I feared that but a lot of hard work went in to some of my posts. How many posts, rep points would I need to have or how old would my join date have to be to qualify for a name change, in your opinion?

I don't know if join date is taken into consideration, but probably early '03 - '02. Also I don't know if rep points would actually be taken into opinion, I imagine they might, but you would need an awful lot, probably 7000+. But they might not be taken into account because of the abuse of the system.
Really what you need to justify a name change is to have an awful lot going for your account. You could just sign up as a new user and continue the same quality of posting and you would soon gain whatever respect you had back.

Of course, these are just my thoughts. I don't know what the Mod's will think about it.
