Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Kiss, Def Leppard, Quiet Riot, Journey, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath

BludgeonySteve 08-22-2004 06:14 PM

Why all of the double posting?

^I like all of those bands by the way.

GibsonRocker90 08-22-2004 06:15 PM

Was an accident

Badmoon 08-22-2004 06:15 PM
Well, So Far is a greatist hits...so I would start with that.
Not completely, "Ohio" is only on So Far.

Broken Arrow 08-22-2004 06:16 PM

ohio is good?

Woodstock 08-22-2004 06:18 PM

Yeah your right, but.....Ohio is one of the best songs ever.
They wrote Ohio in 1970 and So Far came out in '74, so why Ohio is on So Far boggles me.

Cause I live there :D

themightyquinn23 08-22-2004 06:32 PM

Me too :chug:

Woodstock 08-22-2004 06:33 PM

what city?

themightyquinn23 08-22-2004 06:35 PM

Around Cleveland

Against Miik! 08-22-2004 06:39 PM

If mean ohio by CSNY, then I think it was written about the Kent State massacre, which I think was in 72 or 74.

themightyquinn23 08-22-2004 06:42 PM

I thought it was in '70. I was standing on the spot it happened when I was at Kent.

Woodstock 08-22-2004 06:43 PM

It was in '70(Ohioans know this stuff).

I live in a suburb outside Toledo.

Against Miik! 08-22-2004 06:43 PM

Nm you're right. May 4, 1970

ZeroPlusOne 08-22-2004 07:01 PM

A completely under rated, yet simple and awesome classic rock band is Grand Funk Railroad. I seriously love their songs. Inside Looking Out is probably my favorite grand funk song, along with paranoid.

ledpoisoning27 08-22-2004 07:58 PM

why does everyone like quite riot the only good song they had was cum on feel the noise and that was it there are way better bands than the one hit wonder quite riot. if im wrong someone tell me but it seems they only had that one good song.

nubtub 08-22-2004 08:06 PM

everyone likes quiet riot because randy rhoads is in it. i think its cool to see how his skill progressed from his early days on to ozzy.

RIP randy

Woodstock 08-22-2004 08:37 PM

This page has gone from CSN&Y to randy rhoads.

God help us all.

PinkFloyd 08-22-2004 08:37 PM

CSN&Y wasn't much of a BAND. It was a bunch of solo artists comming together to create the music they wished and for it to be played in a free enviroment. When I hear a CSN&Y song, I think, Oh thats Neil Young or that's Bill Crosby or that's Rick Nash, and so on.

Badmoon 08-22-2004 08:40 PM

^ Actually it's Graham Nash and David Crosby.

I can see how you mixed up Bill Cosby, and David Crosby though.

jerky_timberdog 08-22-2004 08:43 PM

dire straits rock... mark knopfler is my hero, he's such an awsome guitarist...
classic rock is sweet, there wouldn't be anything half-decent if it wasn't for all the groovy dudes that started rockin' back in the day...

PinkFloyd 08-22-2004 08:45 PM

Somebody think of a game or something to play and interact with here.

Insane-Mortality 08-22-2004 08:51 PM

I have also noticed that...more and more kids are listening to older rock, esspecailly kids who play instrument, like guitar bass or drums....but i would say that punk is more recognized than rap..i hate rap...and punk

PinkFloyd 08-22-2004 08:52 PM

Somebody say a line from a song and then somebody must guess it. :P

edit artist must be guessed

PinkFloyd 08-22-2004 08:53 PM

^As in what artist/band says it.

This thread is one giant circle, we will just end up talking about CSNY or The Allman Brothers again pretty soon.

kjkjkj 08-22-2004 08:54 PM

wow there are a lot of posts in this thread!

kjkjkj 08-22-2004 08:55 PM

to me classic rock like led leppelin is still heavy metal if you ask me. as that's what it originally was.

Against Miik! 08-22-2004 08:56 PM

.......It may have been a precursor to metal, but it wasnt metal.

Ya it just hit 4000

Badmoon 08-22-2004 08:57 PM

Are you saying Metal was originally like Led Zeppelin, or Classic Rock was originally Metal.
Good call, i'm seein the Allmans at the Ampitheatre this Saturday.
Actually, it's not good that we keep returning to the same topic to talk about the same stuff over again. This Allman Brothers talk is getting old.

lunch998 08-22-2004 08:59 PM

You guys want to play the song line game? Because your right, we would just end up on CSN&Y in a few pages.

Against Miik! 08-22-2004 09:01 PM
Actually, it's not good that we keep returning to the same topic to talk about the same stuff over again. This Allman Brothers talk is getting old.
Theres only so much you can talk about though. I mean, someone can bring up some obscure band, but it won't make for good discussion if nobody else has heard of them. Its not like classic rock is an ongoing thing. There is only so much to pick from.

I havn't seen Aerosmith mentioned hardly at all. How about that?

themightyquinn23 08-22-2004 09:03 PM

There are so many classic rock bands that it would take a lot more pages to discuss all of them. The Allman Brothers are the most popular band in here for some reason, so we end up talking about how great they are every 3 or 4 pages.
