Elton John doesn't like doing music videos so he doesn't star in them.

Can't they just do that?

Tyler 10-30-2008 01:06 PM

I doubt they get the same perks as Elton John though. It's probably in their contract that they have to do these videos.

oh snap looks like rody trying to get a beard now

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qmlHEcR4aw

Benzilla 10-30-2008 02:57 PM

Dems Protest boys take their beards seriously. Tim looks like he's had facial hair of some sort since he was 16 and Arif has probably been shaving since age 4. Luke's got some sort of stubble going on and I have no idea if Moe can even grow a beard.

Rody's wanted one for a while though. The undercoat was just coming in when I saw them in February.

Dimmu Burger 10-30-2008 02:58 PM

Rody had a somewhat long beard when I saw them recently, though it was kind of thin.

2muchket! 10-30-2008 03:27 PM

Beardcore shirts are a must now tbh

Dimmu Burger 10-30-2008 03:58 PM

I would wear one.

interviewer02 10-30-2008 07:35 PM

Rody sounded like **** in that video. Hes still got a great voice though.

silicon71 10-30-2008 08:58 PM

I took an hour and a half train ride to see these guys tonight, only to find out that the show sold out. I was with 4 other friends and we stood in the freezing cold begging for extra tickets. we could only get 3 and after an hour we gave up hope. I had to sell my ticket to a fat kid. the joy on his face as i gave him the ticket made me want to blow my brains out. i watched the ticket scan and he walked in and i sat in a diner for 3 hours. biggest disappointment of my life. i was looking forward to this concert for 2 weeks. should have bought in advance, but i was almost positive it wouldn't sell out...

Sorry to hear that dude! Same thing could've happened to me, I haven't bought a ticket in advance for awhile. I bet you had some kick *** diner food!

Tyler 10-30-2008 09:04 PM

Rody's been trying to grow a beard for years. Arif couldn't really grow a beard until he turned about 20 or so. Tim has had a beard since he was like 17.

botb 10-30-2008 09:50 PM

coke did you ever dig up that other hard drive?

Protest @ Sound Academy on Dec. 18. Lights is opening, barf.

Ticketmaster has this funky offer where tickets are only $10 each + service charge if you order 4 tickets.

Xplisit 11-13-2008 02:26 PM

who the fack is lights

Shattered_Future 11-13-2008 03:10 PM

My friend was dying to see Protest too, and they got sold out around here too. She was so disappointed because she managed to come across enough money to go see them, and then couldn't.

Grindchoke 11-13-2008 05:09 PM

The next album is going to be legendary

Lights is her: http://www.myspace.com/lights

I know Protest doesn't like the typical "every band sounds the same" tours... I generally agree - it's cool to go to a show and see bands that sound different from each other. Doesn't mean I enjoy seeing Machete Avenue all the time. I'm guessing Lights won't be much better.

Meh, if that DKE Mansion show happens then they're here twice in December! woooo.

Tyler 11-14-2008 12:06 PM

I'm very anti-Sound Academy so I won't be there.

alytee123 11-14-2008 12:08 PM

Seeing them tomorrow with Whitechapel and Architects

Sex

Jev 11-14-2008 12:09 PM

Wow there will be a few wanking off when lights play.

when i saw them they played with whitechapel, acacia, unearth and gwen stacy. that's like a big tour of "everybody sounds generally the same EXCEPT pth"

Tyler 11-14-2008 12:48 PM

Doesn't mean that's their preference. In the US market they don't have as much say.

Whitechapel447 11-14-2008 12:49 PM

naw i wasn't saying that, i was just mentioning how out of place they were. it was the brutality of whitechapel and acacia strain then shredding and pth cleans. i don't dislike them i've actually taken a liking to them in the last few weeks.

Dimmu Burger 11-14-2008 01:19 PM
Doesn't mean that's their preference. In the US market they don't have as much say.
This is true for prettymuch anywhere. They are so unique that they will stand out on any tour. Sikth is the only band that they remotely fit with and they broke up. Maybe I Am Abomination as well, but that's about it.

Benzilla 11-15-2008 12:46 AM

Look what I found:

If Rody heard this again he'd probably want to go back in time and kill himself.

Holycrap, this too:

James46n2 11-15-2008 12:07 PM

Ugh, that video was too cringe-inducing for me. I got through about 10 seconds.

About the Sound Academy - yeah, I never liked that venue either. Haven't been there since it was called The Docks, I've heard it's changed. Anyway, it's been far too long since that Dungeon show so I don't really care about the venue.
