I had a baby. Well, not me personally obviously, but my wife (well ex-wife now) had a baby and we moved back up north to be closer to family. I just noticed you're in North Wales, whereabouts? I was in Bangor last week on a nostalgia trip (I went to University there), I love that place, wandered along the sea front in Beaumaris, went to the record shop in Bangor, had a drink in some of my student haunts and generally remembered some good times. |
You guys ever listened to Krux?
Now that's some quality doom metal |
Krux was my first doom band. Mats Levins on vocals is always great.
|
Krux are ok. Not great but good.
Anyone in the UK should be getting pretty excited about this tour: WARNING/AGAINST NATURE/CHURCH OF MISERY/THE RIVER Due to hit these shores in October. |
Krux are ok. Not great but good.
I agree. Though I do think Krux II is better than Krux I. |
Only UK or also the rest of europe?
As far as I know it's only the UK and Ireland. |
Church of Misery are awesome
|
Men In Search Of the Perfect Weapon are so good.

Legendary Swedish doomsters CANDLEMASS celebrated their 20th anniversary with a huge party at Stockholm's Kolingsborg last night (Saturday, March 31). CANDLEMASS performed with no less than seven (!) different vocalists — including the band's former singers Johan Langquist and Tomas Vikström, plus the group's latest addition, Robert Lowe of SOLITUDE AETURNUS. The complete list of vocalists that performed with the band last night is as follows: Johan Langquist (ex-CANDLEMASS) Tomas Vikström (ex-CANDLEMASS) Mikael Åkerfeldt (OPETH) Mats Levén (KRUX, THERION, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) Robert Lowe (CANDLEMASS, SOLITUDE AETURNUS) Tony Martin (ex-BLACK SABBATH) Janne Christoffersson (GRAND MAGUS, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS) The group's setlist was as follows: 01. The Dying Illusion (Tomas Vikström) 02. Bewitched (Tomas Vikström) 03. Dark are the Veils of Death (Tomas Vikström) 04. Where the Runes Still Speak (Tomas Vikström) 05. Ebony Throne (Tomas Vikström) 06. Well of Souls (Janne Christoffersson) 07. Black Dwarf (Mats Levén) 08. At the Gallows End (Mikael Åkerfeldt) 09. [New Song] (Robert Lowe) 10. Samarithan (Robert Lowe) 11. Mirror Mirror (Robert Lowe) 12. Crystal Ball (Johan Langquist) 12. Demon's Gate (Johan Langquist) 13. Under the Oak (Johan Langquist) 14. A Sorcerer's Pledge (Johan Langquist) Encore: 15. Witches (Tony Martin) 16. Bullfest (Tomas Vikström) 17. Solitude (Langquist/Vikström/Lowe) Check out video footage from last night's gig at YouTube.
That is so awesome. They sound great. |
Holy fcuking ****, that sounds godly!
|
At The Gallows End sounds so perfect. It's a shame on Solitude you can barely hear Rob Lowe.
Hahaha, when I c/p'd that, I left out the link to the vids. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=candlemass+070331+&search=Search |
Solitude was awesome tho, too many talent over 1 stage!
|
Absolutely. I like Johan more than Messiah, and Rob Lowe is like my favorite singer period, so that's pure win.
|
Black Dwarf was pure perfection!
|
I didn't really like the vocals on it, even though I like Mats a lot.
|
I quite liked them. And Johan Langquist is brilliant in Demon's Gate \m/
How I wish I was there last night! |
Totally.
Mikael sounded so amazing. Candlemass + growls = secks |
Yeah, I think he should deiniftely do another album with Katatonia \m/
|
I forget, which album is he on again?
|
Brave Murder day. :)
|
Right, thanks. I knew it was one of the ones I've got, but I can never remember which.
|
Idk, prolly their worst album to be honest.
|
Awesome album.
