SubtleDagger 07-01-2006 03:27 AM

(*The Noonward Race*) 07-01-2006 03:30 AM

I wrote a song.

But I forgot the lyrics.

Cygnus Inter Anates 07-01-2006 12:39 PM

Soulseek hasn't worked for me in a long time.

FA 07-01-2006 05:56 PM

SLSK owns everything.

Mitch2oo6 07-02-2006 10:13 PM

Agreed.

Cygnus Inter Anates 07-02-2006 10:28 PM

Not really.

RollerQueen 07-02-2006 10:32 PM

I'm legally drunk.

I'll probably post a "new" song within the next week. I've been writing too much serious stuff, so I'll offset it with this next one, maybe.

Take care now.

slack 07-06-2006 06:40 PM

Is this site dyin' or what?

Oh well. Here's a cool poem I read today called Frenzy by Anne Sexton.

I am not lazy.
I am on the amphetamine of the soul.
I am, each day,
typing out the God
my typewriter believes in.
Very quick. Very intense,
like a wolf at a live heart.
Not lazy.
When a lazy man, they say,
looks toward heaven,
the angels close the windows.

Oh angels,
keep the windows open
so that I may reach in
and steal each object,
objects that tell me the sea is not dying,
objects that tell me the dirt has a life-wish,
that the Christ who walked for me,
walked on true ground
and that this frenzy,
like bees stinging the heart all morning,
will keep the angels
with their windows open,
wide as an English bathtub.

slack 07-08-2006 12:39 AM

so, uhm ...

Mitch2oo6 07-08-2006 07:26 AM

Hi!
How goes, my lyrical friends?

Nightvision 07-10-2006 06:33 AM

hey slack, hey mitch, hey thread.

How goes it? I've kind of given up on posting regularly until this damn database thing sorts itself out - I'm on a 56k at home, so most of the time this place is slower than snail sex anyway - chuck the database errors in there as well, and I can be waiting ten minutes for a damn page to load. Couple that with the fact I've got no inspiration whatsoever as well.

So what's everyone doing with their summer?

Mitch2oo6 07-12-2006 06:44 AM

Winter here. Which means very little.

The database thing is giving me the ****s, it's slowing up my DSL to about 5-7 minutes per page, WHEN it does decide to work. Tonight it's ok though.

Innocuous1 07-12-2006 07:10 AM

Should I consider it a kind of critique...

...when my songs get deleted?

Mitch2oo6 07-12-2006 07:13 AM

It usually means you've disobeyed a rule somewhere.

Innocuous1 07-12-2006 08:21 AM

I had a dream I stood in Neil Young's kitchen.
He looked superior, and I felt like retching.
I said I had to go away.
He said, "No you must obey
The laws of the universe,
And the laws of the second verse.
You're only as good as your last song.
It's better to burn-out than to be proven wrong.
Your voice will sound like a giant gong."
I cracked my fingers and my brain goes...

the fourth of Four Little Songs by rheostatics

I think I'll just try to build up some good will before I post anymore songs.

drumass04 07-12-2006 10:46 AM

Read the rules, ensure the songs you post aren't offensive in any way, aren't JOKE SONGS, etc etc.

Timmy

SubtleDagger 07-12-2006 10:56 AM

Innocuous, every one of your songs I've seen has been far too hokey; just read the rules and try to post something serious.

slack 07-12-2006 04:54 PM
So what's everyone doing with their summer?
Hm. Biking alot, actually. Every summer there's a group that bicycles across the state and it sounds like fun in a completely insane way. I'll probably sign up next year. It's like 530 miles spread over seven days. Other than that, just writing scraps of poems and not playing guitar enough. :upset:

pixiesfanyo 07-12-2006 06:03 PM

Working full time.

jurialmunkey 07-12-2006 06:16 PM

Uh-Huh//// Full-time work sucks... gotta find a different job. I'm sick of calling newsagents to take their orders for magazines and stockcounts and blahb blahblalbhalbhab. (As you can imagine, I'm at work now and Grrrrr....) :upset:

FA 07-12-2006 10:36 PM

I'm sick of not being able to drive, the heat, laziness, and working.

masada 07-12-2006 10:39 PM

Sitting on my azz and getting fatter.

i am the robots 07-12-2006 10:41 PM
I'm sick of not being able to drive, the heat, laziness, and working.
I'm on the same page bro.

Mitch2oo6 07-13-2006 12:42 AM

Heat? You haven't experienced heat 'till you've come to where I live.

masada 07-13-2006 11:43 AM

I remember when I lived in Chicago, it got to around 110 once.

deathscreamingsheep 07-13-2006 12:45 PM
So what's everyone doing with their summer?
Trekking in Peru for a month.

drumass04 07-13-2006 01:11 PM

A week biking, 2 weeks walking and climbing, and a weeks holiday with the family.

Kinda busy, but I don't like sitting around.

It would also appear that I've began writing lovey mush...not good!!! Let's hope that's it out of my system.

Timmy

deathscreamingsheep 07-13-2006 01:28 PM

Yeah man. Girls smell and they're the enemy.
