Where can you buy iron-on transfer paper? Do they have it at most stores or do you have to search around for it?

How else would it transfer?

I finally finished my first BOTAR stencil. I think one of the wings turned out well, and the other was... kind of good. I'll probably end up flipping the stencil around and using the same wing twice.

I have yet to make a stencil for the words. The front is going to have the guitar and "B.O.T.A.R.", and the back will have "THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE AMPLIFIED"

Shtein 07-23-2005 05:29 PM

what did you make your stencil out of?

Forest_Fire 07-23-2005 05:30 PM

Cardboard. It's my first stencil ever and I didn't know any better. I'll be using something else next time

Shtein 07-23-2005 05:32 PM

See I wanna do a stencil for the 2-tone gangster on the Specials cover but im not sure how id do that?

You just get some really thick paper material, draw on, or print out a picture and glue on the image you want to be a stencil. Use an x-acto knife to cut out.

Shtein 07-23-2005 05:36 PM

I never made a shirt and i want to so I got a question. So once I cut out the stencil what do I use for colour, paint, markers...?

Anxious 07-23-2005 05:42 PM

Fabric Paint.

asdf 07-23-2005 05:43 PM
Fabric Paint.
Definitely your best bet.

Anxious 07-23-2005 05:44 PM

I tried to make a sonic youth shirt once using the stencil method. The picture ended up looking nothing like the stencil.

Shtein 07-23-2005 05:44 PM

Can somebody give me a price range in Canadian if you could?

It takes practice. Start with simple logos.

Anybody?

Anxious 07-23-2005 05:52 PM

For fabric paint in the u.s. it cost me about 1.50 for a bottle. Work conversion magic.

Shtein 07-23-2005 05:53 PM

ok, that pretty cheap

Anxious 07-23-2005 05:57 PM

Yeah it is. Pick up 3 diffrent colours, see which ones you like. I reccomend doing it on a practice shirt first so you dont waste a good shirt if you **** up.

Shtein 07-23-2005 06:08 PM

What do you mean 3 different colours. I only need 1 or 2

Anxious 07-23-2005 06:11 PM
What do you mean 3 different colours. I only need 1 or 2
That'll do then.

Shtein 07-23-2005 06:15 PM

were you the one that make the black flag T-shirt and posted a picture of it?

metty16 07-23-2005 06:15 PM

Really simple designs first, like Pennywise and Crass or something, then move on to harder stuff, like the little Ska guy

Shtein 07-23-2005 06:18 PM

so you saying try a simpler stencle first?

Daniel! 07-23-2005 10:36 PM
