I'm hoping it will be good, Subliminal was my favourite slipknot album, so maybe they can capitalise on it, or they could go the other way and turn into a Stone Sour clone. I like Stone Sour ...ish, but we definitely don't need two.

EDIT: Craig & Sid have always been my favourite members and had the best masks IMO.

beans 07-21-2008 01:33 PM

i've always enjoyed jims or micks mask
although they barely change from album to album
im hoping they dont turn out like a stone sour clone but who knows coreys voice has been slowly declining since his work on SS new album and Vol 3, but who knows.
the new songs are awesome though

MadnessUnhallowed 07-21-2008 01:37 PM

I agree, the new songs are good., but you can hear the Stone Sour influence with the clean vocals. Now I'm not sayng it should all be screaming whatever, I'm just saying the change is noticable. Definitely want to check it out.

And yeah, micks mask has always been quality. Although looking back now on his S/T mask it looks so poor compared to the current, lol.

beans 07-21-2008 01:42 PM

yeah i do hear the SS influences in their new stuff, but i still think it will be no doubt that it is slipknot for sure.

Yeah his first mask was really bad quality, so was Corey's, in the Voliminal DVD when they interview him and he shows what it looks like now...its basically nothing anymore, held together with duct tape

MadnessUnhallowed 07-21-2008 01:44 PM

Oh yeah, I remember that.

Yes it is still Slipknot, just a different Slipknot from the S/T & Iowa days. But I don't mind too much.

beans 07-21-2008 01:45 PM

me neither.
I loved the iowa album btw

MadnessUnhallowed 07-21-2008 01:58 PM

Yea I think Iowa is very good. Step up from S/T, brought in more intensity and improved mucisianship with it.

beans 07-22-2008 01:11 AM

im hoping the music goes back to that intensity, but ill be happy either way

lak89 07-22-2008 03:23 AM

Iowa and Subliminal were really good, but i never really liked their S/T apart from a few select songs

Dimmu Burger 07-22-2008 06:41 AM

I'd say s/t and Iowa were the best, they got all soft and whiny after that.

MadnessUnhallowed 07-22-2008 01:21 PM

My favourites are definitely Iowa and Subliminal, with S/T a close 3rd. MFKR is so different. The jazz interlude in Do Nothing/Bitchslap is pretty cool.

Tyler 07-22-2008 01:36 PM

MFKR is also terrible.

MadnessUnhallowed 07-22-2008 01:47 PM

I can't remember it, own it but haven't listened to it in a very long time.

Tyler 07-22-2008 01:51 PM

I'm pretty sure you don't actually own it.

MadnessUnhallowed 07-22-2008 02:10 PM

I doubt it's a true copy of it, but I have it with the 16 page booklet.

Hawks 07-22-2008 02:12 PM

Iowa is the only decent thing this band has ever produced. Its still not that great though.

Charizard 07-22-2008 02:13 PM

lol

Hawks 07-22-2008 02:17 PM

There's nothing funny about that.

Charizard 07-22-2008 02:18 PM

haha

Tyler 07-22-2008 02:21 PM

Kinda sad but I bought Iowa the day it came out. I had orange spiked hair, too. But in my defence, I was 13.

Charizard 07-22-2008 02:22 PM

ahahaha you fag

when i was 13 i had a crew cut and i listened to TRUST company

Tyler 07-22-2008 02:25 PM

It was 2001, eat me. I wasnt a "maggot" or anything, I didnt wear bondage pants and I always thought Kittie sucked.

Charizard 07-22-2008 02:37 PM

you had orange spiked hair

fag

Tyler 07-22-2008 02:37 PM

It was redish orange, it faded. Shut up, all the kiddies in 8th grade dug it.

I bought it that day as well, though I bought like 80 bucks worth of cds every tuesday back then. Those were the days!
