The Opeth/Nevermore tour comes to my area, and tickets are only $15!

However, I've heard from a few sources that the place they're playing at is madness, and that I probably wouldn't survive. No wonder it's only $15.

I must make a choice - See Opeth and Nevermore, and possibly die? Or just not take my chances.

Hells Bells 09-26-2005 09:47 PM

Take your chances, when people say stuff like that it's usually very exaggerated.

At least you can go...my venue's 18+ only FOR THIS ONE CONCERT.

All the others are normal...WHY NOT THIS ONE!?!

LA, they got dates up somewhere...might want to try scythes of bodom

ArcLite 09-28-2005 07:22 PM

I'll have to drive 5 hours to DC when I see CoB. Meh, I did it for Porcupine Tree, I can do it for CoB. Opeth/Nevermore is only 2 hours though. Can't wait.

Steerpike 09-28-2005 07:51 PM

I might be able to make it to either to DC or Worcester show. Depends if I cna get the transportation.

go to worchester IheartSP and me are going :D

ArcLite 09-28-2005 08:02 PM

Where the hell is Worchester? And are we talking the CoB or Opeth show?

NEVRMORE2 09-28-2005 08:07 PM
Where the hell is Worchester? And are we talking the CoB or Opeth show?
COB although id love to see the Opeth/nevermore/into eternity show.

Worchesters in Mass its at the Palladium.

Steerpike 09-28-2005 08:54 PM

Actually, Worchester was a typo. I meant to say Philadelphia, but I saw Worchester on the list and it brings back memories of the disappointment I felt last spring when I realized I wouldn't be able to make the road trip up to Massachusetts to see Nightwish because I forgot that Spring Break at my campus is in late March, not early April.

So add to the fact that I'm kind of tired, and...

Anyway, DC looks the most likely. It'll be easier to get transportation there.

Let me know if you'll be hitting DC, as that's where I'll surely be seeing them.

Steerpike 09-28-2005 09:13 PM

Like, I said, I need to see if any of my friends would be interested. I don't have my license right now, as I can't pay for the car insurance. No sense having something I won't be using. And even if I did have the insurance paid off, I don't have a car. Which only brings up that fact that the payments on the car wouldn't leave much room for gas anyway.

God, being unemployed sucks.

Anyway, I should have enough room on my credit card for a ticket and a little compensation fee for gas for my friend.

Dried Muffin Remnants 09-28-2005 09:49 PM

I will be there in Worcestor - Opeth and NEvermore (I think we just missed Pelican),

Lord Abortion 09-29-2005 02:13 AM

Nah, I checked the offical site, (which has been updated less than Iced Earth's recently...) and scythes of bodom, and a couple of others... no European dates outside of Finland and I think one date in Sweden and one in spain, (festival- wise)
I can wait...

Riva 09-29-2005 03:02 AM

So, Blind Guardian may be coming to Australia. I am being so excited to hear this news.

Lord Abortion 09-29-2005 04:37 AM

Lord Abortion 09-29-2005 07:04 AM

No BG tourdates as of yet... I got Imaginations from the other side today,I haven't heard it yet, I won't until 11.00 tonight due to work...

Stoic 09-29-2005 10:38 AM
What about compared to their other albums? I have Divine Wings Of Tragedy and Twilight In Olympus...the former I enjoy the hell out of, the latter I haven't really listened to much.
Exactly what the other guy say. The Odyssey, alhough crunchier and darker lacks the classical touch. It used to be my favourite for a certain period but now I prefer Divine Wings of Tragedy, which is much closer to power metal compared to the groovy The Odyssey.
I felt it necessary to do that...
You cant imagine how many times I've caught myself whispering Mirror Mirror, Nightfall and Mordred's Song while walking on the street :p
my mom doesent mind those bands but she really like nightwish and kamelot right now.
 That's a cool mom! My mom's only experience with metal is when she once played a Cryptopsy album instead of the Abba one I had burnt for her...

Opeth + Nevermore + Into Eternity and still wondering whether you should go to this or to the COB?!?!

I would go for Nevermore and Into Eternity and left when Opeth came on stage

Europian guys, check Slough Feg's tour dates ( although I doubt you care about them as much as about COB and Sonata  )

I've had some problems with this album, despite it being one of BG fans favorites. The album just doesn't contain what most of the others do, and the sound and quality seem a bit lower than the others.

It took me a while to get. It seemed muddy production wise, messy and forgettable at first but after a while it really grew on me.
