Load and Reload are great albums, I think I am the only one who likes the song Ronnie(it sounds so badass).

Fade to Black is not their best song, maybe it has their best solo but it's not their best.

Trundle 07-26-2006 07:48 PM

does anyone know when the new album is coming out?

victim of changes 07-26-2006 07:50 PM

It was supposed to come out this winter but its been pushed back until spring/summer of 2007

Trundle 07-26-2006 08:22 PM

dam i dont think i can wait that long:angry:

victim of changes 07-26-2006 08:24 PM

lol yea well at least they've been keeping themselves a bit busy with touring

Trundle 07-26-2006 08:32 PM

ya i guess so but they wont come to canada

victim of changes 07-26-2006 08:41 PM

There.
Thanks man. Cool tab.
Have you heard the new song live?

That has decent double bass.
I have a video with really good audio and video quality if anyone wants?? The audio and video have been taken from 2 different shows because one night the video quality was better, other night...audio.
Load and Reload are great albums, I think I am the only one who likes the song Ronnie(it sounds so badass).
I love that intro! So cool. I really like Load and Reload. The other albums are good for playing along to but R&RL are just great for laying back and having a good ol' sing song. Bleeding Me, Hero of the Day, The outlaw Torn, Mama Said, Unforgiven II, Low Man's Lyric...love them all.

Nepenthe 07-26-2006 08:48 PM

I like Until It Sleeps, but that's about it off of those two albums.

Trundle 07-26-2006 08:54 PM

ya until it sleeps is a pretty good song

victim of changes 07-26-2006 08:58 PM

I don't have load i have reload though.

Actualy load isn't to bad, Reload I'm not to fond of. They aren't bad albums if you think about them in a different perspective as less of a raw, thrashy sound. But compared to the first 5 they get blown out of the water

King Antichrist 07-26-2006 10:42 PM

For me it's first 4 that are good.

The Black Album is Amazing, but my top three would have to be MOP, AJFA, and Kill 'em all.

victim of changes 07-26-2006 11:32 PM

right now for me it goes AJFA, MOP, RTL for top 3, i think AJFA is so underated

MRDuCran 07-26-2006 11:52 PM

AJFA is my favourite album, always has been. Blackened is probably my favourite song too.

victim of changes 07-26-2006 11:56 PM

Sweet yea ive always enjoyed it, it just gets bashed a lot for reasons like production, which i dont get

Nepenthe 07-26-2006 11:59 PM

Well, it does have a very thin production. It's still one of my favorite Metallica releases though.

MRDuCran 07-27-2006 12:25 AM

I love the sound of the drums on that album.

"Kill'em all" is my best metallica's album
There are some cool stuffs in "justice for all" too
lol i kno i wont i couldnt get passed track 4 on reload pal
I've already talked about this, have you tried? There's some really awesome stuff after Unforgiven II
"Kill'em all" is my best metallica's album

Yea those are pretty good. I like Lightning better.

Just for the future - you don't really need to use quotes especially if your not doing the whole thing

jane 07-27-2006 08:00 AM

My favorite song on Reload is "Fuel"

Jev 07-27-2006 08:42 AM

I always liked Prince Charming.
It's not even that good though.

Jaundice 07-27-2006 08:45 AM
AJFA is my favourite album, always has been. Blackened is probably my favourite song too.
And Justice For All has always been my favorite. The riffs are amazing, the song structures are more complex then on their other albums and the solos are incredible.

Neoteric 07-27-2006 09:53 AM

My favourite was always Kill Em All, it's a lot more raw and in touch with the bay area thrash scene.

MRDuCran 07-27-2006 11:31 AM
And Justice For All has always been my favorite. The riffs are amazing, the song structures are more complex then on their other albums and the solos are incredible.
Yeah the structured definately stand out. I love the way the keep going back and forth, repeating riffs, then only playing half of a riff 3 times etc etc, it's great.
Noticable tracks for me would be the title track and either Frayed Ends of Sanity or Harvester of Sorrow, I can't remember which.

The solos fit the songs so well too, as to opposed to some earlier stuff where it was just a pentationc scale in the same licks over and over and the newer stuff being bluesy. I think he really went all out on this one.

I especially like these songs on the Live Sh/t DVD's, the Seattle one being my favourite.

Nepenthe 07-27-2006 11:33 AM
I love this too. Those songs definately took alot of time to craft. Frayed Ends Of Sanity is definately my favorite song on there, one of my favorites overall as well. The instrumental part in the middle is Metallica's greatest moment in my eyes.

MRDuCran 07-27-2006 11:36 AM

Ahh Frayed Ends of Sanity, I guess that's the one I was thinking of. It definitely has some crazy parts, I don't think I could play it the last time I tryed, which was actually a long time ago.

Jaundice 07-27-2006 11:38 AM

I haven't listened to the record in quite a while, but from my recollection, Blackened and the title track are two great songs with amazing solos. Harvester of Sorrow has, in my opinion, the best riffs of any Metallica song. Frayed Ends of Sanity is also brilliant, especially the part in the middle. One and Dyers Eve are also powerful. So I'd actually say that most of the songs are standout tracks for me.

Nepenthe 07-27-2006 12:06 PM
So I'd actually say that most of the songs are standout tracks for me.
Yeah, that's about right, the only song that I don't exceptionally like is Eye Of The Beholder, and partially Shortest Straw (though I do love the solo in that song).

victim of changes 07-27-2006 12:10 PM

Its just a great album the musical proggresion is great, imagine if cliff was on it.

Nepenthe 07-27-2006 12:14 PM

If Cliff was on it, then we wouldn't have To Live Is To Die.

That's optimism for ya.

MRDuCran 07-27-2006 12:16 PM

I really like Eye of the Beholder. The chords used in the intro are really cool. The verses and chorus and whatnot aren't amazing but that bit before the solo is really cool too.

It's one of those songs where I know I can actually play it perfectly so it's always fun to play.

Nepenthe 07-27-2006 12:18 PM

Yeah, I do like that cool solo thing in EOTB, but that's about it.
