Although they may seem repetative, they aren't that bad.

Metal sounds to bland to me, at least from what I have heard. Not a fan of the growls. I like the drumming in alot of it though.

Yeah, this guy sent me a Hammerfall song and it was like any other metal song. It's a generic genre overall.

Haha, they're not great I'll admit, but I'm a sucker for anything that's remotly like At The Gates.

Just listen to bands like Opeth, they will change your mind.

I've never enjoyed Opeth.

Oh yeah and most metal is cheesy as hell, with the bad hair and band names for starters.

They are not for everyone, but definetly one of the best melodic/progressive/death bands to ever be formed.

I'm lucky because the first music genre I really got into was hardcore; I'm only 13.

That means I don't have loads of shi[B][I][/I][/B]tty CD's from nu metal and rap acts that I don't like anymore.

I mean like I love Opeth, Edge of Sanity, Katatonia and the real progressive stuff like that. I like the heavier stuff like Spawn of Possession, Cryptopsy, and Cephalic Carnage. Anything Thomas Lindberg touches is gold. But like when it comes to power metal and some black metal... meh. I'm just not impressed by much of it. It's boring, even if the musicians are extremely talented.
