i was not aware there are multiple right techniques for doing death/black metal vocals

not something I'm 100% sure on but I'm pretty sure there's one way to do vocals correctly, (from the diaphragm)

once you learn that technique you sound like what you sound like unless you want to alter your voice by doing incorrect technique :confused:

there's different ways of pushing air across your throat, that's why vocalists can do multiple intonations

it's really not that different from actually singing, you can use your throat multiple ways for that too

I'm saying everyone has a default vocal style they develop and trying to sound like a vocalist you like is stupid.

at least with an instrument you can emulate the same sounds as another musician

but w/ vocals you're stuck with your voice

that's not really true though, I can do pretty good imitations of different vocalists even if my tone isn't spot on with theirs

like how singers have similarities in style that don't have to do with their "natural" voice perse, you know

yeah, I liked impetous ritual, though apparently not enough to keep it because it's not in my music player

it got better for me with every listen so maybe give it another chance

idk death metal is pretty straightforward for me at this point, its rare for me to start liking something I just find ok now. I know what I like and what I'm looking for.

that's the thing, i'm really not, if anything i'm even more critical of aussie bands. i've listened to a shitload of them and i can say with utmost certainty that the majority of them are absolutely shit.

people just assume that because i love portal, ignivomous and some other select australian bands
