Indeed! :thumb:

I think alot of Rock N Roll people have some respect for the Beastie Boys. They Combined Rock N Roll guitar riffs with rap. Well, they used too

thickasabrick 07-26-2005 02:12 PM
Who here loves Supertramp? I have Breakfast in America and Crime of the Century, both on vinyl. I'm absolutely hot on both albums, very much so.

I think they're very underrated in the Classic Rock world. All their songs sound so good to me, just really fresh, and classic without making it seem like they're stealing themes from other songs.

Great band.
I absolutely love Supertramp. My favourite album would have to be Crime of the Century, although I don't think I've heard a song/album of theirs I didn't like. They were great at writing songs, so creative.

I've heard K-os and he's got some good songs. Not a huge fan though. I don't listen to a lot of rap.

edit- and I suppose if the Beastie Boys are considered rap, then I listen to them. I like the Beastie Boys.

ATM 07-26-2005 02:13 PM

I like Sage Francis, Atmosphere, Edan, Demigodz, Non Phixion, etc

I'd imagine so.

Fuuuuck, this bugbite on my arm is driving me nuts

K-os is great, one of my favorite artist currently. I like The Beastie Boys, I like how, in their earlier stuff, the rapping vocals worked with the guitar, especially in Fight For Your Right

Stevie Wonder is seriously cool. SITKOL is an essential album.

I'm absolutely l0ve that album. Everything about it is good. Bowie is the man.

jpj 07-26-2005 08:59 PM

Ziggy Stardust is a perfect album, IMO.
Ziggy Stardust is a perfect album, IMO.
Yes, I agree.

BludgeonySteve 07-26-2005 09:09 PM

I don't know if it's possible to have a perfect album but TRAFOZSATSFM (dude!) is a very good one, it has a lot of great songs.

Broken Arrow 07-26-2005 09:11 PM

/hasn't heard it in it's entirety

I think Eat a Peach is perfect. WYWH and DSoTM come close, too.

BludgeonySteve 07-26-2005 09:22 PM

Hmm, interesting. What do you guys think that an album needs to be considered perfect? If an album doesn't have any bad songs, the songs that it does have could still be better, right?

Those ones definitly come close.

jpj 07-26-2005 09:25 PM

It has to be really really good.

Really, I'm not entirely sure. It's just that when I listen to those albums I think "This album is fucking perfect."

BludgeonySteve 07-26-2005 09:29 PM

They still have tiny tiny flaws though. Are we talking about the literal definition?

Jam2Me 07-26-2005 09:50 PM

I think Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs is perfect. I like each song in its own respect, and the order and the way they exchange vocals and everything. I agree with Eat A Peach totally too.

Seafroggys 07-26-2005 10:31 PM

I think Abbey Road is perfect.

Sure there are some songs I don't like *as* much, like Because and Her majesty, but when you look at them objectivatly (sp), they are great songs. They are unique and of high quality, and there would be people out there that would love those songs. I either love or almost love all the songs on Abbey Road, even those mentioned, though they aren't as favorites of mine as, say, Something, Oh Darling, and Polythene Pam for example (actually I could go off and list all the songs on the album, there's not one "mediocre" song or worse on there).

thunderzstruck 07-26-2005 10:37 PM

Octopuses Garden= Great song

ah, the vocal harmonies in because are awesome. and her majesty is cool too. golden slumbers might be my favorite of the album. mccartneys vocals are top notch.

edit: that would be excellent of you, slug.

Glitterati 07-26-2005 10:46 PM

Speaking of Slug, you should hear the rap he and his sister recorded and then posted in Alt/Indie.

Leper 07-26-2005 11:33 PM

All the songs Ringo sings lead on are awesome.
