lol

I didn't really like the chorus. Great idea, there was just a little too much. Great mix there with the cleans in the intro except your guitar sounds a little out of tone. A little too much of Fade to Black I think. I also think maybe several tracks of different guitar parts would be cool. Overall, I like it.

Britton 10-25-2005 08:03 PM

Thanks man. I had been there with my bro all day just to
record some stuff that I'm doing aside of my band (The Great Revival)
and he was like Hey Britton you want to record some of you're Metallica?
I was like Hell yea I do...Then I didn't know what to play. I did it straight
from this cruddy little pedal he had...so it was just on effect. First I thought
I would do FTB (the whole thing) But that woulda been it and we didn't have the
time to overdub it..so I just did whatever I had on my mind until he said stop.

Nana?

metalmilitia101 10-26-2005 10:47 AM

lol i didn't look at this for a day and a half and i had to read 3 new pages!

i am currently working on an instrumental rendition (drums, guitar, bass, synth) of fade to black, basically fade to black with shortened verses bc there are no vocals. anyway, i'll post a link when i'm through.

Britton 10-26-2005 03:00 PM

Awsome I wanted to do that But my drumming doesn't sound
too good and the vocals sound like crud. I've got the bass and guitar's
down. Just got to work on singing abd drumming

Well I tried to listen to it but it said the link was stale or something like that. Maybe I can listen to it later or tomorrow.

Britton 10-26-2005 03:39 PM

Well it's up to you if you want to re-upload it but I was kind of hoping to hear your chops. :)

Britton 10-26-2005 03:46 PM

So what exactly does it say?

lightningmetal666 10-26-2005 03:51 PM
So what exactly does it say?
It says that I have to enter the link into a field in the middle of the screen to make it a valid link. I do just that and I was sitting there for a couple of minutes and nothing happened. Got irritated and moved on.

DoubleBassAssault 10-26-2005 03:53 PM

Welcome to the forums.

Kinda funny that you mention that song as I'm in the middle of trying to learn that solo. Harmonic minor sounds so awesome.

Britton 10-26-2005 03:59 PM

I think that's their best solo

lightningmetal666 10-26-2005 04:00 PM
I think that's their best solo
I like that whammy bar thing that kirk does at the very end of the solo before everyone goes back the main riff.

Britton 10-26-2005 04:01 PM

When I think of AJFA I think of the color silver

DoubleBassAssault 10-26-2005 04:05 PM

Pehaps you're thinking of the statue of Justice then.

Not really silver but has a similar tint.

Britton 10-26-2005 04:08 PM

It's funny cause All the album cover seem to relate to the music

DoubleBassAssault 10-26-2005 04:08 PM

ill remember that

Britton 10-26-2005 04:09 PM

Hey don't worry man and welcome to MX

Oh definitely. That was the album that got me into metal and was the first album that I had ever owned. I loved all of the anti-political lyrics and the riffs were just so damn heavy. I hadn't heard anything like this on the radio before. The closest thing was Enter Sandman which doesn't seem all that heavy to me.

Just for fun Britton you should try to learn Shortest Straw. Very awesome jam and has kind of a weird beat.

Just in case you forgot, use the edit button instead of posting twice. Mods get kinda cranky when you double post. I try to do it sparingly.

I agree. While I'm a metalhead, it is because of my upbringing from this album that I get along with punks.

Their attitude on this album was great. Cliff had just died so they were like "Fu*k the world and everything and everyone in it." A very positive attitude to have if you ask me. :thumb:

Britton 10-26-2005 04:20 PM

I find that I almost always agree with punks

the way I look at it we are all for the same stuff
some of us just do it all a little different

:chug:

Cheers to anarchy and other forms of self-destruction.

Maybe one day 'Tallica will do an album similar to this one.

Doctor Night 10-26-2005 04:30 PM
