Me too, well to be honest I got roped in to play bass on one song- now its turned out to be practically every song (and also after rehearsal today I've realised its ridiculous and I just play anything haha)

But it also meant I got to run round looking all official cos of music tech :)

I only get to play an instrument for one song, and it's bloody Slade's I Wish It Could Be Christmas. To make it worse there's about 5 other guitarists palying with me. I'm just gonna mime.

Happy at least you get to do semi normal stuff- I have to do carols and gospel stuff and then reggae and status quo versions of carols- I mean what is this? huh?

Also I'm apparently the only bassist n the school so cant exactly back out grrr- got dragged into jazz band cos of that too (which isnt that bad though) but I just dragged my guitarist mate into it all so I'm not alone

EDIT: hahah just thought I should try and persuade the head of music to do the pogues fairytale of new york....she wont, but t'would be a laugh

Actually it's not really that different from what you have to sing. We have to do a Gospel version of Away In A Manger some weirdass version of Stand by Me and a Latin hymn. I don't know what else we have to do.

It's also meant I've had to very quickly touch up on the bass clef etc- cos I'm self taught so dont bother with that I just use tabs

It's not that bad. We got slated in the Ofsted report and only 52% of last year's year got 5 A-Cs which was and improvement of 34% :eek:

^we had a music ofsted yesterday for which I was involved- (gospel choir and music tech)- apparently we were outstanding :cool:

The year before only 20(or less)% managed to get that.


Also our school's exceptional in performing arts. That's about it.

Capdown? Aren't they the guys who had a banner saying "I shot Dime" on their amps? Man, there was an uproar at my local venue about that, people were going to boycott it because of that. Funny thing is, they were all emos trying to be metal. They all went in the end.
