Tell me your E-mail address and I shall E-mail you one.

Chu: The Creeping Death solo is supposed to be Metallicas hardest. Dunno if thats true.

fatbandit 10-25-2005 06:18 AM

Our guitarist plays the Creeping Death solo perfectly. He's 16 and been playing about 2 years. I find it hard to believe its the hardest one. IMO, Blackened and Dyer's Eve are both more difficult.

i recently read an article by phil jamison of grinspoon, about big day out 2004. phils girlfriend kicked julian casablancas(of the strokes fame) in the *** because he was been an arrogant prick, so julian told lars and lars began starting fights for the sake of starting fights using his minder as his muscle .

newho, just sharing how dissilusioned i am that one of my idols is such a nasty, egotistical ****wit. ne1 else hear this story.

ween2424 10-25-2005 08:29 AM

What did Metallica do different when they produced St.Anger? The snare is extremely loud.
What did Metallica do different when they produced St.Anger? The snare is extremely loud.
Tried going back to their roots. Everything was supposed to be raw, but ended up being total crap.

In my opinion, of course.

Steve DeBerg 10-25-2005 09:02 AM

From watching the movie it looks like they just threw it all together as quick as they could. I don't think they really cared about production value at all. I know they wanted a raw sound but even Kill 'em all was better produced and that was in 1983.

Jev 10-25-2005 10:27 AM

They wanted the raw sound didn't they, trying to be hip with the new generation.... It failed.

So anyone else want Jungle essence (Rob's bass solo) before I send it out?

fatbandit 10-25-2005 10:55 AM

If you ask me, St Anger was probably one of the most highly engineered albums they've done. They engineered it to be bad. And guess what? No amount of engineering makes it the same as actual bad quality!

Okles I sent out the links for Rob's Bass solo.

yeah same here, at first I thought MOP was better but grew attached to RTL more over time.

Kill 'em all was pretty bad@$$ too. It seemed to me that they were more into the fans and weren't as full of themselves on that album.

If it weren't for these forums I wouldn't liek half the bands I do today.

lightningmetal666 10-25-2005 11:59 AM

True that. True that.

Hey, I went to guitarworld.com and did the dear guitar hero thing. I asked kirk hammet some questions. Well I asked guitarworld and hopefully they'll print it with his answer. /crosses fingers

I asked about how he gets his wah settings and I asked him for his blessing to do a 'tallica cover band.

fatbandit 10-25-2005 12:03 PM

I had a real kickass question for him the other day, and I forgot it :upset:

:smash:

Jev 10-25-2005 12:03 PM

Hmm Is it still open? Time to ask Hammett why he uses wah on every song.

lightningmetal666 10-25-2005 12:06 PM
Hmm Is it still open? Time to ask Hammett why he uses wah on every song.
Good luck on that. They tend to only post 'creative' questions. I don't think he hasn't heard that question before. Then again everyone wants metallica to give them their blessing to do a 'tallica cover band.

Jev 10-25-2005 12:07 PM

fuck it, I'll think of a real good question.

fatbandit 10-25-2005 12:08 PM

I think I considered asking about the white band on his picking hand.

In my question, I told kirk that I have a friend that does his leads well (I stretched the truth a little. He kinda sucks at them  ) and I can emulate James' picking pretty well. Which is true. I'm a pretty damn fast downpicker but I'm getting better at pm alternate picking.
