So, you come in here with no actual point, and then prove you have no actual point by re-stating everything you've already said?

Statutory Ape 09-10-2006 02:36 PM

I said Tool fans were pretentious. Then I showed examples of this.

I said Tool fans think Tool members are gods. Then I showed examples of this.

Is it really that confusing?

Kage 09-10-2006 02:41 PM

Look, why don't we just drop that whole argument. You're capable of good discussion and being cool, so let's just stay with that from now on.

Shadius 09-10-2006 02:44 PM

You came in here, insulted people, one guy gets mad at you and retaliates on your level, and you try to use this as some kind of fodder that Tool fans are pretentious and you were right all along.

Logic ftw, right?

So like, 10,000 Days live, does anyone know if theres any mp3 recordings around?

Kage 09-10-2006 02:46 PM

I'd say if there aren't yet they'll be surfacing pretty soon.

Statutory Ape 09-10-2006 02:50 PM

I saw them in Denver, and I don't know how this will come out sounding but every song they played sounding almost excactly like on the cd's...so mp3s from that show are pretty pointless. I imagine most the concerts are like this. He started "bahahahah" ing inbetween too, in allusion to the scientology thing, it was pretty funny.

Salivation 09-10-2006 03:01 PM

can i ask you one question?

why are you posting in here if all you are doing is trying to make fun of the fans?

go post in a thread with music you actually like?

and do you play any instruments?

Sleepy 09-10-2006 03:10 PM

Statutory, just admit that you came in here to stir the Tool fans up. It's not that hard...here, say it with me.

I'm a recovering Tool fanboi.

I like how you assume what music i'm into. Tool used to be one of my favorite bands...I've just been lisening to them for a about 4 years now almost non-stop, so I know every word to every song, just kind of got bored of them. Plus I realized how overrated they actually were, and how stupid most of the fans were(including me).

I've been playing bass and guitar for 3-4 years, and I recently started getting into vocals...

ok so you play bass...

How can you say justin chancellor is not a good basist?

I can agree with you on adam hes not bad but hes not amazing...hes just good with his kind of style and thats why i like him...

I assumed you listened to norma jean because i saw your post in the thread on their new cd coming out...

so stop assuming im a dumbass

agreed

Shadius 09-10-2006 03:53 PM

So, did that guy's slutty friend have Maynards imaginery baby yet, or what?

Huber 09-11-2006 01:50 AM

I 3rd the shutting the fuck up.

10,000 Days live was pretty much all about watching the art and the band. The only difference in sound was the lack of rain.

toolboy84 09-11-2006 10:43 AM

I can't imagine 10,000 days/Wings being very good live. I'm not saying it's a bad song, but when I go to a gig, I don't want to just be standing staring at the visuals for the best part of 20 minutes.

I saw Tool when they played the Hammersmith earlier this year, and they played pretty much all the songs from 10,000 days that I'd like to hear.

Are they still only playing 90 minutes on the Amercian tour at the moment? I'm seeing them again in November, and although I love Tool, I won't be particularly happy if I've forked out over £30 to see them play the same setlist , but in a bigger venue.

Stoo 09-11-2006 12:18 PM

Songs I want to see In November that I didn't see at Download are;

Parabol/a
Prison Sex
Forty Six & 2

the main ones.

I thought they did play 46&2? If not, I guess im just blurring all the 3 setlists I saw into 1.

Hoping for Opiate at the very least in Notts (which I now have my standing tickets for)

Stoo 09-11-2006 01:13 PM

In fact I can't remember if they played it. The only albums I had when I saw them in June was Lateralus and 10,000 Days, so I didn't recognise many songs from the others.

VomitStainedCretin 09-11-2006 03:27 PM

They definitely played 46&2. I could never forget hearing that opening riff live. Also had some strange visuals of white lines on black and a human body.

Salivation 09-11-2006 03:42 PM

Have they played third eye at all?

toolboy84 09-11-2006 05:20 PM

To my knowledge they used to play third eye live. In fact, it's on Salival. But if you mean recently, then I'm not so sure.

got tool? 09-11-2006 05:39 PM

Oh man, Salival pwns. Pu**** is so amazing; the vocals at the end give me chills

Sorry, a little off topic :p

Maybe a little off topic, but very true.

Kage 09-11-2006 05:52 PM

I don't much care for the version of Pushit on Salival. The live version of Third Eye is great though.

Tyr 09-11-2006 05:53 PM

That, too.

I prefer that version to the studio version.

Irish_Scorpion 09-11-2006 06:25 PM

maynard isn't a god :upset:

magicbus 09-11-2006 06:35 PM

The live Third Eye is awesome. The second time the "so good to see you" part comes around (when he's yelling it) it gives me chills. The "prying open" part is awesome too.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-11-2006 07:59 PM
So, did that guy's slutty friend have Maynards imaginery baby yet, or what?
I haven't talked to her in a long while actually. I'm guessing she was BSing or we would still be like "zomg maynard secks?" and stuff.

Anyways, I have a couple requests: First, can someone send me one or both of Puscifers songs? I'm interested on where Maynard will be going after Tool. Second, does anyone have a live AND extended version of Opiate? I've never heard anyone proclaim the badassity of this version, but it was honestly a highlight of the show for me.

Oh, and again regarding Adam's future: Hell yes. One project with Robert Fripp, and another with Bozzio and King Buzzo!   How epic will both of those be?

Salivation - I doubt they'll play Third Eye much during the tour unless they drop Rosetta Stoned. They definitely won't play both during the same show...

magicbus 09-11-2006 08:22 PM

Is Tool done for or something?
