Awesome, how was Wings and 10,00 Days live?
|
This is when it the conversation becomes condescending. I was being facetious, you'll learn big scary words like that when you get out of high school. See, I know no one would go to these lengths, but my friend, I was trying to make a point. Some people(maybe not you) seem to think Tool is from another planet, gods, deities. They're nothing special.
Vicarious is a joke of a song, rehashed, not to mention oh so cliche Tool material, but hey, if that's what gets you off kudos. Good luck with that, I don't feel much like arguing as of now.
Er, I'm at University, in my second year, and I understand what you were doing, I still retain the fact you're a retard now. And, ironically, you're actually being pretentious now yourself. You were digging for a reaction and I gave you one, but the fact is, most rabid Tool fans don't post here, this thread tends to attract the more mature crowd on a long term basis. And Tool are something special, they're a great band. This in itself is special. They're not gods, obviously, but they put on a hell of a show and have a great sound and a lot of talent. Vicarious is like almost rehashed stuff, I agree, but I happen to find it a better song than a few of it's predecessors, ie: The Patient. |
Point proven?
you are the biggest dumbass man...you listen to norma jean and man does that **** suck. |
Tool fans are pretentious. I enjoy Tool, but I refuse to worship them like you fanboi's. It's rediculous, you would bathe in Maynard's piss while touching yourself to Stinkfist if given the chance. Tool is nothing special, Adam Jones is a mediocre guitarist, Justin Chancellor is the same. Danny Carey is an amazing drummer, but nothing more. And Maynard, while he does have some amazing pipes he seems like a diva; just a bit too full of himself
I've yet to find anyone here that is pretentious in your definition. Now, go to Toolnavy.com and take a look around there. That is the cesspool of pretention there. You are pretty ignorant and arrogant. |
you are the biggest dumbass man...you listen to norma jean and man does that **** suck.
You really aren't helping everyone else who's trying to be intelligent about this. |
you are the biggest dumbass man...you listen to norma jean and man does that **** suck.
Man, man, man, man, man? See I like Tool, but because of people like Salivation I dislike most Tool fans. |
Back to Tool discussion.
Lateralus is easily the best album. It's, in my opinion, what earned them their "proggresive" title. Dispostion, Parabol, The Grudge, T and L, and Lateralus being some of my favorites. Although H. is possibly my favorite Tool song of all time, So I must give Aenima some credit. Okay, back to flaming. |
Wow, Adam's gunna be busy.
BTW, something I forgot to mention about the show I went to. We all know they play an extended version of Stinkfist, but at the shows you guys have seen was Adam's solo during the extension a bit more, like, flashy and cool? I noticed it at the show and never noticed it when watching the videos. I got bored enough to figure out the setlist for my show. It went like this, I think. Stinkfist (extended) The Pot Forty-six & 2 Jambi Schism (little extension in the interlude where DC pwns drums) Rosetta Stoned Right in Two Wings for Marie 10,000 Days Lateralus Vicarious Aenema
That looks great. How was Wings for Marie/10,000 days live? |
Tool seems pretentious to me somewhat, but **** it. I enjoy the music.
Lateralus is my favourite, most consistent album. |

When you're more skilled and famous then them, then you can talk, until then eat shit and shut your fucking mouth. |
That looks great. How was Wings for Marie/10,000 days live?
Excellent. Even the beligerant douchebags were feeling the mood, well around me anyways. |
Last night's show was nothing short of amazing. Wings/10,000 days was FLAWLESS. We did get cheated out of Right In Two, and I was pretty disappointed about that, but they played a killer show nonetheless. Highlight have to be Aenema, Wings/10,000 Days, and Lateralus.
The setlist was: Lost Keys Rosetta Stoned Stinkfist (extended) The Pot Forty Six & 2 Jambi Schism (with double time middle section) Vicarious Aenema Wings For Marie 10,000 Days (the visuals were amazing for this one) Lateralus Another bummer was that the visuals didn't seem to be working during Rosetta Stoned and I was looking forward to seeing them. And, this being my first Tool show, I was actually hoping they'd play Sober. hah. This was by far the best concert I've been to and I can't wait until they come back so that I can see them again. |

Don't they always play the extended Schism? They did at Download, I just assumed they always did.

From what I've heard, yeah they have all this year. |
I think it would be awesome if they recorded the exteneded version of schism and made another cd like the same style of salival but with different songs this time and then it came with a live dvd instead of music videos
|
the DVD is long overdue. I expect it after this tour.

What kind of song set can I expect? I'm going to the Dallas show on Thursday.
|
there's a setlist right above you.
Guys, how did we not think of "It's TOOL Time!" when naming this thread  |
I assume you mean as allusion to Home Improvement.
|
the guy above me made a thread called "It's TOOL Time!" that's what made me think of it.
|
there's a setlist right above you.
Guys, how did we not think of "It's TOOL Time!" when naming this thread
Duh, sorry, sometimes I can't read....it's a disease. |
Man Man Man Man Man?
Its people like you that makes me realize that the music scene is going way downhill.
Because your music is better than mine? |
Yes.
|
Wow you guys are ripping apart Statutory Ape (nice name haha) for simply having a different opinion then you. For as much as you guys like Tool and as much as Tool preaches to think for yourself, you guys are not. Noone is ripping on you guys for liking Tool so why rip on him for not liking? Just because he is attacking your band that is obviously on a high pedestal doesnt give you reason to be immature children about it.
When you're more skilled and famous then them, then you can talk, until then eat shit and shut your fucking mouth.
First off skill is subjective. Second, since when do you have to be as famous as something to critique it? Ohh damn, I guess I cant criticize Lord of the Rings because Im not as famous as it, right? |
yes, that's right

And skill isn't subjective, skill is quite objective. Measured by things like how clean your technique is, how fast you are, how many techniques you know, your ability to switch between things quickly and cleanly, etc. Music sounding good is subjective, and whoever your favourite guitarist is is subjective. Skill is mostly objective. |
Actually, he was insulting the people here, that's why he's being bashed the way he is, read back before sticking your nose in.
Yeah exactly, if he came in and just made point that he wasn't a fan without assuming we are all Tool fanboys then he wouldn't have got ripped apart. |
Okay recap of my entrance and the statements to follow. I would go out on a limb to say I made my point quite clear.
Tool fans obviously know excactly what good music is.
Tool fans are pretentious.

I bet you like some lame band like dragonforce or something where every song sounds the same with solos that drag on for half the song. Thats not even music when it comes to that thats just like going hey I wanna show how lame i am that i only know one riff.
And it continues...
you listen to norma jean and man does that **** suck.

Its people like you that makes me realize that the music scene is going way downhill.

Because your music is better than mine?

Yes.
Tool fans know excactly what good, quality music is.
Some people seem to think Tool is from another planet, gods, deities.

do you even play bass you tard? that man is god.
Haha, he walked right into that one.
Yeah exactly, if he came in and just made point that he wasn't a fan without assuming we are all Tool fanboys then he wouldn't have got ripped apart.
Ripped apart? Honestly, Ripped apart? throwing childish you're a dip****, fag, dumbass, ****er insults is hardly ripped apart. |
