*cough*...NERD!....*cough*
Then ive hit a new level of demoting nerds. :p The only floyd albums i need are atom heart mother and The Final Cut. Ive really been so into buying new ones for the past 2 months, i barely had time to listen to em. Then again...i got about 20 albums in the past month, so their all a little left out |
Schyma, do you have a bigger version of your avatar?

Wow, Gilmour plays drums too? Man, bass, guitar, drums, he does it all, and good.
I really liked Floyd's stuff without Waters. Not that I dislike him, but I like Gilmour's voice better, and I really like the stuff he wrote. |
I like Gilmours voice, but i dont like it in all of the songs...so '85 and on i dont really like. And the structure of the songs seemed to be a little weaker to, as well as the lyrics.
I cant blame him for tryin too hard, but i think waters was the genius behind that band and nice avator :thumb: ive been lookin for one like that, but a bunch of the reflected rainbows, like the cd cover of the DSOTM 30th anniversary |
I agree, but in a couple songs (Sorrow, AMLOR, Keep Talking) his voice fits the song very good.
I really like Marooned off TDB, very good instrumental. Won a grammy. ^.^ |
marooned is probably my favorite floyd instumental, next to Any Colour you like

Am I crazy, or did you reflect the picture over the Y axis? |

That is reflected. I think he found his somewhere else though. |
Hey everyone, I'm back. Too lazy to catch up on the old posts, I'm sure they were earth-shattering and brilliant.
I got The Wall for like 15 bucks, used.
My posts are always earth-shattering, and mostly brilliant. ;) Lucky boy, I got The Wall for 55bucks Australian. :( The only time I ever bought a CD used, it had a big, near invisible scratch right across it. I took it back and tore the store a new one. |
I got The Wall new for 20$ American.
|
I got The Wall new for 20$ American.
That sounds about right. |
That sounds about right.
A lot of places have it for 30$. |
I got The Wall new for 20$ American.
Nice buy. When was that? The Aussie dollar is really strong now, but I guess that would have been similar to my price back in the day. |
Ive never seen it less then $35 new. The only more expensive album ive seen is the White Album
|

Around October I think. It was actually marked at 30$ and I was prepared to buy it for that, but it turns out it was only 20$. Either there was some kind of sale or I got away with something. |

But it really wasn't Floyd without Waters. Oh, the avatar.. Thanks :D I like yours haha. I'm a huge Zep fan too. |
The two disc = ten more dollars thing is a bunch of crap. Blank CDs are very cheap.
|
Be quiet, Mr. RealPlayer Rhapsody.
|
i just ordered a live performance from the in the flesh tour, it's got all of animals, all of WYWH, plus a bunch of others. can't friggin wait for it to come in
|

How much is the white album? |
So i just downloaded "Floyd live in Venice 1989," and I'm pretty disappointed that Nick Mason has a backup drummer, and it looks like the backup is doing most of the fills and the hard stuff. whats up with that?
|
rippa, I belive he's talking about The Beatles White Album.
On the backup drummer stuff.. No idea on that. |
He's one of few musicians that I've heard get worse over their recorded history. I understand if a musician is strung out on heroine or something that they aren't going to be in top form, but normally the person's skills tended to increase.
|
Are you guys talking about that drummer that stood up and played? Or maybe that's in Pulse. Anyways, that guy is amazing.
|
How much is the white album?
Its $35 bucks if the stores are having a sale. Normally i think it goes for $42 at most. Its such a ripoff its rediculous |
A lot of places have it for 30$.
I meant I think I got it for around $20 too. |
Hello Floyd Fans!
I've got DSOTM, and I've heard shine on you crazy diamond and another brick in the wall, what album should I get next? I was thinking WYWH, but I'm not sure... |
mos def WYWH. Not a single bad song on there.
|
OK, thanks. and another question - I know there's 2 parts to Shine on you crazy diamond on wish you were here, but are there any other parts on other albums?
|
No, although Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part 1) is actually made up of parts 1-5 of the song, and part 2 is made up of parts 6-9.
I fully agree with this...after WYWH get Animals and The Wall.
ah, that would explain why when i downloaded it I couldn't just find parts 1 & 2; in the end I got the whole song as one file, all 17 minutes of it. I may get WYWH tomorrow, as I'm going to town :thumb: |
Definitely do. WYWH is their best CD, personally.
|

123, and I rarely use that phrase. |
Is Live at Pompeii worth the money? Is this the best live Pink Floyd dvd?
|
I got Live at Pompeii not long ago, and I'd say it's definately worth the money. I have no idea how much it cost though, it was gift.
|
Is Live at Pompeii worth the money? Is this the best live Pink Floyd dvd?
Yes, its very good. I prefer animals, and meddle to WYWH. I just feel tracks 2 and 3 on WYWH really drag the album down, whereas the only parts of animals i don't like is the first half of dogs, and all of meddle is great except maybe san tropez. |
mos def WYWH. Not a single bad song on there.
I hate welcome to the machine. |
I hate welcome to the machine.
It's an awesome song. What don't you like about it? |
