DimebagDarrell 05-10-2004 05:43 AM
Don't they often play parts of long songs in medleys?
Burdcheese 05-10-2004 10:16 AM

I'd get it if I weren't so poor :upset:

Photophobic 05-10-2004 10:31 AM

^^I'd get it if I weren't so poor, and if I didn't want to buy at least one of their albums first.

I was going to say the same thing myself, but couldn't believe it could possibly be true...:p

What's your preference? Pre or Post Black Album? Personally I like both eras.

Mike the 'Tender 05-10-2004 02:58 PM

I said this in a one of my last posts, but never got any response...Dream Theatre does a cover of Master of Puppets. I don't think it's anywhere near as good as the original (Dream Theatre is missing one guitar though), but could anyone tell me where it's from?

Hitroshimite 05-10-2004 03:07 PM

If I'm not mistaken, DT released a live album (bootleg?) that was them playing all of Master of Puppets (the entire album) live.

Squirrel 05-10-2004 03:09 PM

^ true, they also encored with the entire number of the Beast album.

Burdcheese 05-10-2004 03:11 PM

There's a video of some of it. I found it in the guitar forums a while back (do a search for Petrucci and Master of Puppets)

Its pretty good except the singing - LaBrie normally has a good voice, but not there.

Mike the 'Tender 05-10-2004 03:15 PM

Thanks

Mine's a video of Dream Theatre in concert, a friend downloaded it off of Kazaa. I'd expect that someone probably taped one of their Number of the Beast concerts or something (I'm not too familiar with Dream Theatre).

I love checking out Metallica covers cause some are really good, some are awful and some are just plain odd...

TheGreatOne 05-10-2004 05:43 PM

I love the song Am I evil. Do they ever play it live, i havnt seen any live am i evil songs.

GorbAcheV 05-10-2004 06:14 PM

They play Am I Evil live on Cunning Stunts.

TheGreatOne 05-10-2004 08:36 PM

REALLY?? they do? I better check it out

gernm17 05-11-2004 12:27 AM

really? i really wanna get live **** i downloaded an ajfa medley from some website and it began with eye of the beholder, then a little bit of the frayed ends of sanity, then the middle part of blackened, then like 3 mins of ajfa(2 verses i think), then back to blackened and that was it i think

Photophobic 05-11-2004 03:51 AM

Is that so hard to believe?
What's your preference? Pre or Post Black Album? Personally I like both eras.
I love all their stuff (including St.Anger) but I'm going to start with Ride the Lightening.

Dude, check out www.livemetllica.com. You can download all their new shows and they play some old covers and Am I Evil once or twice! Its worth the money.

Has anyone else been to this site and downloaded any shows? My Favorite show was the first one in Calgary. Its great to hear Dyers Eve live, too bad James can't remember the words and Lars can't play the double bass the same. They are getting old, so I understand why they can't play the same as in the '80s. Kirk can still play fast as hell tho! undefinedred

Yeah, since you're such a regular in this thread.

Ride the lightning is their best, true that.

SlaveToTheGrind 05-11-2004 10:43 AM

you're the guy that always says that's matter of 'opinion' :) i like kill em all most :)

superpeer 05-11-2004 10:46 AM

Well yeah, I should've said, I think RTL is their best. :p

But that was pretty obvious.
