I'm definatly sure there won't be a support as it is an evening with, but at the wolverhamton show on 26th October it says on wolvescivic.co.uk it says Dream Theater + support. This is a mistake on their part isn't it? |

not sure, it says 'All shows will be "An Evening With Dream Theater" (no opening act and 2 sets with an intermission) unless noted otherwise' in their website. |
Hey, does anyone know where I can find a schedule for their North America tour in spring of '06? I tried on their website and couldn't find anything.

The official dream theater website should have that info. http://www.dreamtheater.net/ |
Hopefully these losers decide to come to Edmonton Alberta since they didn't with Gigantour...

Really? Sorry I couldnt help. |
Im a little behind on the dream theater thing.
But I jsut got six degrees of inner turbulance. Listened to both cds nonstop. And honestly, its the best music ive ever heard in my life. |
im going seeing Dream Theater in October and the nights called "An evening with dream theater" does that mean there will be no support band or anything else?
|

it means theres 2, one and a half hour sets with an intermission. And no supports. Usually the shows over 3 hours |

I want to get a dream theater DVD. I heard Live at Budokon was the best, but what are the other ones?
|
the only other dvd i've seen is live scenes from new york. quality wise, budokan is a lot better. the sound quality is better, and it doesn't look like it was recorded on a home video camera. the setlist isn't the best, mostly the 2nd disc of 6DOIT and ToT, while LSFNY has all of SFAM, aswell as A Mind Beside Itself, ACOS, and a couple of other tracks. budokan has much better extra features aswell, like petrucci's guitar world and mike getting people from the crowd to play drums onstage with him.
considering LSFNY seems more just like a live version of the album with a couple of extra songs thrown in, while budokan is more a proper live dvd, i'd go for budokan, as tempting as the LSFNY version of ACOS may be. |
or just dump down the money like me, and get both of them :) I am with him though, Live at Budokan is a higher quality DVD, and has better special features. Plus you get to watch Portnoy playing on the Seimese Monster instead of the old Purple Monster :) .
|
LSFNY has definatly got the best set in my opinion, SFAM, ACOS and Metropolis all in one show, plus some more off Awake thrown in. It's really annoying that they didn't even include the whole set on LSFNY DVD, so you don't even get Metropolis. The quality of Budokan DVD is a lot better, and is more of a live show with members interacting with the crowd a lot more.

at least they included learning to live and erotomania-voices-silent man. i love those songs :) |
Right now I am thinking about getting Budokon because I am saving up for Socom III and I dont have a job at the moment. I'll get the LSFNY DVD for christmas or something.

Yeah it is annoying that they didn't do that. I reckon if they took the set from LSFNY and played it at Budokan that would rock. :) |

Yes it would, the LSFNY CD set is incredible, almost perfect setlist. And I hate those crappy camera effects and the cheesy acting on the DVD. |
Dream Theater are very talented, but I just don't like the singer.

Hmm, I thank the compliment but I really think you need to learn how to type. You don't look cool, it just makes you look dumb. |

I'm pretty sure that his post was intended as sarcasm. I haven't read the whole thread, but there's probably a good deal of people who've come in and said the same thing you did. |

And there are also a number of people who come in here and say that Dream Theater are extremely talented and one of their favourite bands but no sarcasm is thrown at them. Funny that. I'm merely expressing my opinion, dam n it. |
hey. What's up with LaBrie copying a lot of lyrics on Octavarium(song)? What I picked up: "Be careful with that axe, Eugene" ; " Lucy in the sky with diamond".
Not only lyrics, but when he says: ..." Find, I've gone FULL CIRCLE" , he says it excactly as Maynard James Keenan said it on Prison sex. What's up with the mofo? and the intro couldn't be more of a rip from Shine On you Crazy Diamond. Explain, Die hard DT fans! |

It's a play on words, the things that Portnoy enjoyed/has been influenced by in his life, hence - http://dt.spatang.com/octavarium.php Down near the bottom, all the lyrics and their origins. |
