Mathias, i must ask who that is in your avatar, it looks kinda like Jason Newsted.
I think i oughta learn the Skin 'O My Teeth solo |
I think Dave is really good. He's also the most metal person I can think of.

Nah, I'd never put a Metallica member in my avatar, its Michael Stipe back when he had hair.
I think Dave is really good. Dave can be quite a funny guy too
|
I found this page of Dave quotes one time. They were a riot.
|
He has also got an amazing voice
|
Yep, pretty awesome guy that Dave Mustaine...
|
Smart too. Writes good lyrics.
|
What solos are his on RIP?
|
I really don't think Take No Prisoners is very hard. At first its got some tricky riffs, but with some practice its just a really fun song to play, its fast and the riffs are interesting, but I don't think its that hard.
The first half is ok I can play that, but then after Dave sings "Burn" it gets really difficult. |
He does the last solo on Holy Wars
|
He does some on Hanger 18. I saw the live video on Launch. That's all I know.
|
In Hangar 18 he does that one really fast tremolo one.
|

Go back to your old avatar! That was cool :P |
hehe, the lyrics to Liar are a bit mean :p
|
do you guys realize how ard it is to sing and keep a beat then turn around and pull off a solo that is why i think dave mustaine is is good plus he is so into his work he takes every thing so seriusly then afterwards can be the coolest dude there is.

Once you've played the songs as often as he has, and practiced as hard as he has it isn't that big an accomplishment. Also, Dave is probably one of the biggest assholes in the music business . |
Dave is probably one of the biggest assholes in the music business .
How? |
He talks such a load of shit and is generally a bastard to most people surrouding him.

With reasin, I think. But do you think you could give me an example of him talking ****? It's not that I doubt what you are saying, I really do respect your opinion, and trust you, but I haven't heard him talk **** or anything, so I'm kinda wondering if there's an example of this somewhere? |
Well; You have all the times he's slagged of Slayer, Metallica etc...
The whole 'injured arm' ordeal, which he later said was just an excuse to disband the currentline up. That Ellefson is an awful studio bassist that can't keep time. Stuff like that. |

Stuff like that.
That goes back to with reason I think. I don't understand why he would slag Slayer, after all Kerry helped him get Megadeth on their feet, right? Edit: Thanks man. Maybe he is a bit of an ******* :p But he still is a pretty **** good musician. |
There's been a massive feud between him and Slayer(mostly Kery King) for years now, I don't think anyone knows what it's about either.
I don't care what he's like, the man can write some hella mean riffage  |
Didn't he say he didn't want to argue with Metallica and Slayer after the death of Dimebag Darell?
|
Didn't he didn't want to argue over it anymore after the death of Dimebag Darell?
And he hasn't, or has he? I guess the oppurtunity for him to argue with someone hasn't really come up since then. |

Stuff like that.
He never said Dave Ellefson was a bad studio Bassist, he actually defended him many times when the producer and Marty Friedman wanted him replaced. |
all this talk about playing Megadeth songs, is it true to think that most Megadeth fans are musicians? Because there music can get very technical, not to say that there aren't any fans who don't play any music
|
He never said Dave Ellefson was a bad studio Bassist, he actually defended him many times when the producer and Marty Friedman wanted him replaced.
After he and Ellefson split he said that he couldn't keep time for shit. |
Once you've played the songs as often as he has, and practiced as hard as he has it isn't that big an accomplishment. Also, Dave is probably one of the biggest assholes in the music business .
Course you have to practice enough to get to that point though. I guess you could argue he wrote it so its gonna be easy for him, but hey, he writes killer riffs that's why he's awesome. He might be an asshole, but I'd say he is one in the best possible sense of the word. A badass would be a better way to put it. Its not much of a coincidence that he was kicked out of Metallica and every Megadeth member over the years left. |
After he and Ellefson split he said that he couldn't keep time for shit.
Probably true. Still, doesn't stop him being a creative Bassist. A lot of people like Dave because of his attitude. I can't say it really bothers me really, I just think he's an amazing Guitarist. Oh, do we have any Drummers here? I've recently picked up the drums and was wondering about a couple of the more easier 'Deth songs on Drums. |
