Oh and a few more, Avril Lavigne and Alanis Morssette. Am I forgetting any more crappiness? I'd say overall, Britian has the best music, ever. |
Canada's music doesn't even compare to one of our states' music.
We have rush, and neil young and Jeff Healey! With healey we beat the hell out of the states and all of europe.
Three bands? Yea, you guys rule... :p Britian has never really been original. Most of them in the 60's were just blues - rock O). And now they they have some alternative and some Punk. We have Rock, Punk, Metal, Alt, Blues, Bluegrass, Country, Folk, ect... And have so many fabulous bands for each. |

Three bands? Yea, you guys rule... :p
Haha yeah. The U.S. has umm Van Halen, Lynryd Skynryd, and.... I cant think of any more. Canada totally owns. |
I'm hoping you're being sarcastic.
|
Hey you know me. If I was being serious, why wouldn't I have mentioned the Allmans?
|
The US has the doors. I think. Uhh, umm grateful dead? (I think). The allmans. :amaze: anybody else? They have hendrix and the eagles.
|
The Allman Brothers
The Doors The Grateful Dead Jefferson Airplane Lynryd Skynryd The Byrds Frank Zappa Buffalo Springfield Jimi Hendrix Bob Dylan The MC5 The Stooges The Velvet Underground Alice Cooper The Beach Boys The Eagles Van Halen Captain Beefheart Aerosmith Janis Joplin James Gang F00111 |
Well there are tons more great bands from all the countries, but the point is Brits still have it the best. And good call on the James Gang. Nobody ever says anything, yet everybody has heard Funk 49.
|
^i'll agree (then canada, we have Healey :thumb: ).
|
See, I look for originality, and a couple of big name bands like The Who, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin don't change my mind. We have a huge variety of Classic Rock, they really don't.
Can any of you even name the bands that make them superior? And no offense, but musically Canada's kind of sad. |
The Beatles!
And pink floyd. Led Zeppelin And eric clapton (cream too) The Rolling Stones The Yardbirds Fleetwood Mac Deep Purple Jeff Beck Yes Supertramp Dire Straits Jethro Tull The Who!!!!!!!! Uhh yeah |
Ive noticed a big uprise in classic rock in my school too. Ive always been a fan because thats what my parents pushed on me but even kids I know that used to listen to rap are starting to listen to AC\DC and such.

We've had this discussion before. I think I said to someone, ask some of those kids what there favorite Bad Company song is. Yeah, thats what I thought. It's just becoming a fad to like some of the more popular classic rock bands i.e. Led Zep and AC/DC. |
Fleetwood Mac
Try again, they have Americans. My list pwns yours |
And no offense, but musically Canada's kind of sad.
Neil Young Guess Who Rush Canada isn't all that bad. Plus all the best Classic Rocks bands are from England and some are US. But Neil Young owns them anyways. |
Try again, they have Americans.
My list pwns yours
Buffalo springfield has a canadian! My list>your list. Plus I only put on the most well known bands. Captain Beefheart The Stooges James Gang These acts aren't as popular/well know (this isn't about personal taste) as bands like the grateful dead. |
Ok time to catch up:
I will check out American Beauty, thanks badmoon. I prefer British Music over American Music, kinda indifferent with Canadian. I like the Beatles. Healy is blind so he probably doesn't know he has a mullet. |

He wasn't originally part of the band.
Plus I only put on the most well known bands.
Or, more like, you can barely name anymore. |
Captain Beefheart
The Stooges James Gang Captain Beefheart The Stooges James Gang These acts aren't as popular/well know (this isn't about personal taste) as bands like the grateful dead.
I don't recall us saying who has more well known bands. |
I couldn't name very many more hugely popular bands.
Caaaaaaan you? I think not. |
I don't recall us saying who has more well known bands.
Yeah well it should be. Only well known bands. |
Is that a fact? You couldn't even come close to how many I can name.
|
Or me, seriously.
|
Yeah well it should be. Only well known bands.
Popular > Good  |
Is that a fact? You couldn't even come close to how many I can name.
Yes I know. But I could name all of the biggest bands. All of the biggest bands from both have already been named. Maybe we should get an un-bias judge. |
Popular=Good
Before the days of corporate sell outs and playing for, well, not for the music anyways. |
Popular > Good
If this was about personal music taste it wouldn't work. By listing only big acts it can be fair. |
