i'm feeling like crap.
all day yesterday my throat was hurting, now it doesn't hurt as much, but i'm feeling worse overall.

and this is my 800th post in the Casual Compendium.

twopelu 12-05-2004 06:03 PM

Hi all! How was your day?

coddingtown 12-05-2004 06:06 PM

Mine was alright, I have 8 pages of notes do for senior issues on the topic of Euthanasia. I have to do those fairly soon, as they are due tomorrow.

I have had pretty much a constant stomach ache lately, and over the past week or so my insides have been making the strangest noises I have ever heard. I havent eaten anything really extreme lately, but I suppose I havent been eating well.

Anyone got a diagnosis?

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:10 PM

diagnosis: go eat a doughnut!

anywhoo. yesterday at band practice, i cut the **** out off my finger, and i have blood alllll over my strings. what should i use to clean them??

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:19 PM

no seriously, how do i clean it, its all over my bass too.

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:19 PM

what about the blood on the pups? its in the grooves on the strings pretty good too.

Vaelroth 12-05-2004 06:19 PM

coddington, have you changed your diet from what you are used to eating? I get really bad stomach aches when I go to my dad's 'cause I only eat fast food there. At my moms we always have pork chops and chicken that has either been grilled or broiled and I stay there most of the time so its my normal diet in a sense.

The change in what concentrations of HCl the stomach has to produce can cause some pretty bad stomach aches.

coddingtown 12-05-2004 06:20 PM

Well if you clean it you definately wont be hardcore anymore...

Id suggest just using fast fret on the strings, or boiling them, then just use a cleaner appropriate to the material on the outside of your bass to clean it, but be careful not to get any liquid in the pickup area

yea, i want blood stained all over my bass, that would be sic. but i want it out of my strings, i dont have fast fret, and am broke. so should i just boil it? as for the bass. i have an sr400, with the oil finish. what should i do to clean the bass on a regular basis?

coddingtown 12-05-2004 06:23 PM

Well if you dont want to buy any kind of string cleaner, then yeah, boil the strings, because the blood has probably seeped into the cracks in them already

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:24 PM

and like, the blood is right on and beside the pups. i didnt noticve i had blood allover, till 3 songs later. so it was everywhere.

im getting one of those guitar care kits for christmas. but for now. how do i boil em?

twopelu 12-05-2004 06:26 PM
what about the blood on the pups? its in the grooves on the strings pretty good too.
1/ Take your strings off your bass, and boil them to clen them properly

2/ Use water or some fretboard cleaner so clean the fretboar

3/ Use water (except the body of the bass is nude-woody kind) to clean the body, and carefully, clean the pickup that way too.

Thats all. (Ive cleaned my basses lots of times that way and it always workd pretty well).

Spaceman Spiff 12-05-2004 06:27 PM

i'd leave the blood, it would look cool.
by the way, before cleaning, take pictures.

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:27 PM

should i get some of that wax stuff? like the polish and all that stuff. lemon oil etc? how long do i boil em for??

coddingtown 12-05-2004 06:28 PM

Use a rag with a minimal amount of water on it, so it is just slightly moist

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:29 PM
i'd leave the blood, it would look cool.

i would spiff. but my camera is busted  it looks perrty badass

imagine.
sr400 body,
blood stained.
dripping all over. its like, dripped down, n looks all siccccccccccccccccccc

twopelu 12-05-2004 06:29 PM
im getting one of those guitar care kits for christmas. but for now. how do i boil em?
Use a big bowl. Put very very hot water on it (You can use your microwave oven to warm it up, or just use the warmest water you can get). Then put your strings onto that water, and wait some minutes. Then remove them from the bowl and clean them (or let them dry slowly). This is the easiest way and works fine. If you think your strings arent clean enough, just repeat the proccess.

(theres lots of ways to clean the strings, and lots of products or adds too, but water is the most simple).

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:32 PM

ok.
what about the oil and wax polish stuff for the body n fretboard??

twopelu 12-05-2004 06:35 PM

again, water could work, and indeed, it works. Also, anything that your mother uses (or if you are older, anything that you remember your mum used to use... ;)) to clean the expensive nude-woody-kind furniture will work.

I use water, but if the blood is too hard to clean, it wont be enough.

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:37 PM

ok. so i dont really need one of these fender/meguiars guitar care ktis? ill still get one. but owell. ill boil em tonight. but i have ghs boomers. and theres that red fabric on the ends. what will happen to it when i boil? will it turn out fine??

twopelu 12-05-2004 06:43 PM

I wont buy that thing, it sounds bad...waste of money (IMO).

Mmm, sorry but that thing on the end of the string could be lost during the operation. If its in good conditions, it will remain the same, but if its a little hurt or loose, it will get looser and fall in the hot water. I recommend you to clean that part after boiling the string, or if you can, keep that part out of the water (thing that can be erally hard considering the water is really ****ing hot...be careful with your fingers and move the strings using something).

I once boiled a Dean Markleys Blue Steels and they do have that thing, like your boomers. It remained the same after boiling them so...

(anyway, Ive boiled some string, worse strings, and that ****ing thing has get looser and looser till it has falled)

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:44 PM

ok, ill try it soon

twopelu 12-05-2004 06:48 PM
what do you guys think about posting a weekly song that everyone one the boards should learn each week??
im up for it , but i think we should break it up into dificulty, because if someones like
"omfg teen spirit by nirvana *creams self thinking about novaselic*"
then most of us are going to learn that song in about 2 seconds it takes to listen to the song

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 08:26 PM

yea, but dont make it too hard, weher only the rally good people oculd learn, and try to keep it to 4strings?

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 08:39 PM

Duncster 12-05-2004 08:41 PM
