Don't worry, MX will fix that if it happens.

ATM 03-05-2005 10:48 AM

I heard Frances the Mute was good.

i am the robots 03-05-2005 10:50 AM

Frances The Mute? Band or Song? Type of music?

lol, going on like a standardized test.

Dancin' Man 03-05-2005 10:53 AM

I love Frances the Mute. It's not as good as De-Loused but I like the fact that their is a much more obvious latin influence in the music.

Simple Man 03-05-2005 10:53 AM

Anyone like my second Yousendit?

Six Foot Revolver 03-05-2005 10:54 AM
How are they (especially Angel of Retribution)?
I have only just got back so have only listened to the first three tracks on Frances the Mute. I have never heard Mars Volta before but it is very impressive :thumb:.

It is the new Mars Volta album and it is progressive rock

It's The Mars Volta's second album.
Anyone like my second Yousendit?
I've heard it before (got the album) and it's okay. Nothing on that album really measures up to the first track, in my opinion, though.

Jom 03-05-2005 10:56 AM
While you typed that out, you could've taken the time to listen to my song.

I did listen to your song, stop being so accusatory

Anyways, I don't think there should be a concern of Elite people giving rep to their friends.

Personally, I can envision the mods giving rep to the more influential posters.

I highly doubt they're going to rep someone who has been banned numerous times.

I feel that they will examine a poster's history and make a judgment there.

I also don't think that Elite users will give rep to those who are undeserving.

I'm positive that the mods would give explicit instructions as to how to judge other users once a user reaches Elite status.

I guess I just don't think that this is going to be abused since the mods control who gets repped first.

I would say that those with a clean history (little or no bans), positive (read: constructive) posting history, and probably some status as a veteran. Again, I highly doubt a multiple-ban, worthless posting n00b is going to get stars.

I would just say that if one has the points, he/she should be able to judge who makes a good post[er] and who makes a bad post[er].

But I'm going to eat lunch now, so I'll be back.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-05-2005 10:57 AM
I agree with AH, this is a better rep system.
I agree it is a better rep system but as munky magik said as soon as people begin to get this "elite" status they are going to rep freinds and eventully I think this will become crupted. The only difference is this will take much longer.

Bartender 03-05-2005 10:58 AM

I think Antihero thinks about this too much.

I think it all depends on who reaches the elite status, and also what the repercussions are for inappropriate repping.
If an elite user abuses the system then I guess they could just have the privileges removed by Jim.

Can the rep given out be checked? because if they are suspicious that someone is abusing the system they could check up the rep that person has handed out

Well Mod's can identify who rep came from. It would be a bit hit and miss if they would spot +rep abusage, because no one would complain. I imagine -rep abusage would be reported straight away.

No but if a member became an elite member and then all of a sudden there e-buddies start to all of a sudden become elite members it would look suspicious

Def. The first track is one of their best songs of any album.

I'm enjoying it thus far. Even more so because it only cost $8.00.

I wish more new CD's were affordable. For $16.95 the cds should be gold plated. Or maybe they could include a stick of rock-hard gum, like the old baseball card packets. Rock-hard-bubble-gum, yummy.

I haven't heard De-Loused but after hearing Frances the mute I think I am going to have to get it. I definately agree about the latin influence.

He made like 5 polls, with 5 characters in each one. They dominate the first page now.

Kingofdudes 03-05-2005 11:50 AM
Did they come out with a new one?
hm? The game was released like a week or two ago.

Each poll has 5 instead of 10 in it. I have listened to angel of retribution and it is a very good album. It is very similiar to all there other stuff.

What was your friend doing that for?
