A Quick One!

RockAndRoll 04-06-2005 02:47 PM

Live at the Royal Albert hall is recent (2000 or so) but cheap and well worth the cost. Oh and it supports some charitable cause.

samyell 04-06-2005 02:55 PM

my favorite is led zeppelin, and i also like skynyrd, queen, ac/dc, jimi hendrix, and more.

Yea, but if you get Live at Leeds be sure to get the delux edition with all of Tommy on it, rather then buy the non deluz edition with 8 songs and then realize what you have done when you have no money left :upset:

If you only got 8 songs you got robbed. The original LP Live At Leeds has 6 songs, but the CD version now(the single disc one) has 14 tracks.

Against Miik! 04-06-2005 06:31 PM

You guys know who rocks...Ted Nugent. Hey Baby is my new favorite song for a while, along with Don't Ask Me No Questions by LS.

Distant Echoes 04-06-2005 06:34 PM

ALL of tommy?

I dont think i have the original version, but its 14 songs with a few songs from Tommy, but did they perform the whole thing live?

And yeah, that cost a fortune too...

Apparently they did.

The 14 Track version has Amazing Journey/Sparks. The 2-Disc deluxe version has the 13 tracks(minus the Amazing Journey/Sparks combo) on disc one from the regular version, then disc 2 has all of Tommy except for Sensation, Cousin Kevin, The Underture, and Welcome.

Oh well I don't remember the exact track listing, I saw most of Tommy and assumed they were preforming it all, kind of like Dark Side of the Moon on Pulse. And just a quistion, when they preformed it live did they add solo's to the songs? I mean when they did We Arn't Gonna Take It at Woodstock it had a solo.

Distant Echoes 04-06-2005 06:38 PM

yeah...i just read your other post lunch...

I got the 14 track (obviously), but its possibly one of the best live albums i ever heard.

Tommys not near my favorite album though, so i probably wasnt missing much

Not so much on Tommy, but on the other songs on Live At Leeds they did sometimes.

Everybodies bashin on me today :upset:

Well i looked at em anyway, and whyd they play the songs out of order? I couldnt imagine hearing a rock opera randomly...im the kinda person who cant enjoy individual songs, even on regular albums. But that still confuses me.

God wouldn't the whole thing be so much easier just to have put on one cd instead of putting out three different versions of the same show?

The only part that's really out of order is that they play Pinball Wizard before they play Do You Think It's Alright?, and Fiddle About, and I think Tommy Can You Hear Me is slightly out of place, but it really doesn't matter what order that part goes in.
