What's the appeal of Belgium beyond waffles and chocolate?

superpeer 02-06-2008 04:53 PM

FREEDOM

NemesisDivina 02-06-2008 04:54 PM

I've been to Belgium... well sort of. I was at the airport there for a while waiting to get on our flight to Greece.

beer!!!! and i never met a belgian i didnt like. theyre like the french but friendly and the country is nice

jelle: brussels most likely

NemesisDivina 02-06-2008 04:56 PM

Greece is ****ing awesome. The weather there is perfect, it almost never rains. Most of the people there were really nice too. Basically, if you know a few words in Greek like 'please', 'thank you', 'hello', 'goodbye' stuff like that, they'll fall in love with you. It's really cool.

Greece is amazing. I recommend Athens of course and half a week to a week in Rhodes would go well.

Brussels, tssk. It's officially bilingual, but French is dominant there. Go ahead, be a frenchy. Antwerp > Brussels.

beans 02-06-2008 04:58 PM

im planning on going there in a few years so im stoked that its as cool as i thought it was, im really looking forward to it :)

NemesisDivina 02-06-2008 05:00 PM

I spent a week in Crete and a week in Athens. I highly reccomend visiting some of the islands while you're there and take the ferry between one or two of them. It might be really slow, but the scenery in Greece is breathtaking.

beans 02-06-2008 05:01 PM

awesome! now i cant wait to go there, did you check your rep nemesis? i sent you something

Permanent Solution 02-06-2008 05:02 PM

The islands are great. Rhodes is a great base and I imagine Crete would be too.

NemesisDivina 02-06-2008 05:02 PM

Yeah, I saw it.

When are you going to Greece?

@bunit

Hey Vince, weren't you in Athens when the Greeks won the Eurocup?

beans 02-06-2008 05:04 PM

im hoping to go there by the end of next year...hopefully

Permanent Solution 02-06-2008 05:04 PM

Not that I was asked but I feel like mentioning that I was in Athens when the Greeks won the Eurocup. That was awesome.

beans 02-06-2008 05:06 PM

haha that woulda been awesome, yeah ever since i saw the movie troy, i loved the scenery in the movie so much i just wanted to go there, it looks so purrty

NemesisDivina 02-06-2008 05:08 PM

All the beaches are really rocky, but Greece also has some of the clearest water that I've ever seen. It was incredible, especially when we were flying over the sea on our way in.
What are you talking about? I just asked you.
lmao nice

But anyways, it was just really cool because the city was partying for like 3 days straight. There were fireworks every night and shiz. Europeans know how to party.

NemesisDivina 02-06-2008 05:12 PM

I was there during the World Cup, it was really crazy. Everyone was inside watching it even though they weren't even in the finals.

Haha, we woke up this one morning and looked outside our hotel window and there were these musicians playing in the street. It was awesome, people were throwing change down to them and everyone was happy.
