its okay
are you daft?

sam's vocals on ruin are the best hes ever done, his voice is noticibly weaker now
It's pretty much understood that Sam vocal performance on Ruin had very little range and is pretty monotone. Basically it was weak and he played it safe most of the album. Also most reviews, professional or not, noted that his vocals have improved.

Hell even live he has gotten much better.

Again your opinion =/= fact, actually quite the opposite.

hismajestythepope 05-21-2009 04:53 PM

Dude. I don't care what retarded reviewers say.

To say he's MONOTONE on that album is retarded.

He doesn't shriek anymore, he doesn't do the low shout ala Spencer Chamberlain or Josh Scogin anymore either.

He does that higher midrange scream (with slight voice cracking now) still, and the monotonous clean singing.

That's not more range.

Listen to Ruin right now, I seriously think every new fag on Sputnik is deaf or something.

HighandDriving 05-21-2009 04:56 PM

Dude you're an idiot (mainly regarding the montone statement), you need to sign up for some more e-classes.

Room13 05-21-2009 04:57 PM

you need to sign up a ballot for eliminator 09!

hismajestythepope 05-21-2009 04:58 PM

I'm retarded because I can recognize changes in pitch?

Oh cool, the online class thing again.

Face it. You're a kid from the review site. You like things you're told to like. You dislike things you're told to dislike. You spout inaccuracies through the roof. You try too hard to troll.

HighandDriving 05-21-2009 05:01 PM

Do honestly not hear that he has very little range on Ruin?

I just wanna know if you're really retarded or just some punk kid posting on MX while taking classes online.
Do honestly not hear that he has very little range on Ruin?
Answer the question. How the hell is switching between three completely different screams monotone?
I just wanna know if you're really retarded
Switching between three completely different screams is monotone.
or just some punk kid posting on MX while taking classes online.
You are a pretentious douchebag.

Also, repeating, "it's monotone," won't magically make it so baby.

first two intro screams, already different pitches

and man those highs sound exactly like those mids

oh cool, melodic chord part with the skank beat

vocals are higher than the other mids he was doing, and have a pretty different tone

oh, highs and the lower mids switching back and forth again

but theres no clean singing, that makes it monotone right?

hismajestythepope 05-21-2009 05:20 PM

oh wow hes switching between multiple types of screams in this single from ruin as well

hismajestythepope 05-21-2009 05:29 PM

see h&d i actually gave examples for what i was saying

something you never do

HighandDriving 05-21-2009 05:30 PM

Lulz I'm the try hard.

Obviously his voice is not the exact definition of monotone, it was simply to help illustrate (or confuse stupid kids) that he has very little range and dynamic on Ruin.

Even in Always his vocals are very samey, why do you think he utilizes more range on Hollow Crown and clean singing, he is obviously trying to vary his vocal output.

Please proceed to get more butt hurt.

hismajestythepope 05-21-2009 05:36 PM

Trying to explain the actuality of things to you here is like trying to explain physics to a child with down syndrome.

I've been listening to Architects for a while. I am a vocalist. I am familiar with the band's material. I am familiar with pitch and tone.

You also have a knack for saying things for the sole purpose of disagreeing with me because you apparently think it will give you cool points.

Once more, doing one type of scream and monotonous, forced clean singing is not exactly the definition of variation.

hismajestythepope 05-21-2009 05:38 PM

Oh, and being butthurt would be going, "**** you, you dont get it."

I'm just pointing out the truth of the matter, and you're bitching about how all of the tone deaf kids from the review site agree with you.

Sam's actually more monotone on Hollow Crown. His scream never changes pitch.

I can barely get through the whole of that album because of that. He needs to sort it out.

nevertoolate 05-21-2009 07:11 PM

whats he like live??

alytee123 05-21-2009 07:21 PM

From what I can remember he's a little more varied with his approach.
