Hmmm, for metal, As I Lay Dying and Unearth both have some pretty wicked double bass stuff going on. If you wanna improve control, play rudiments with your feet, start slow, and build up tempo. Listen to yourself and make sure every stroke is even.

Aaron 02-23-2006 04:07 PM
so can anyone sugest any songs that req. some fancy double bass work that might help improve control or is just really awesome to play around to?

preemtivly happy b-day J man.
Skeksis by Strapping Young Lad has some of the most insane double-bass i've heard played naturally [ie no pro-tooling]

Motleyguy 02-23-2006 04:09 PM

Oh, Fear Factory's drummer is insane with the double bass.

fishbulb 02-23-2006 04:11 PM

Most of dream theater is intense, Erotomania has some quick double bass fills. (erotomania is on the awake album)

Janeway 02-23-2006 04:21 PM
WOOT!...big news guys!...for our music class we have to do one public performance, so my music teacher asked if i wanted to play drums for a mass coming up...so i go to the practice...and play ACE (even on the crappy kit, it literally has 5 year old pinstripes and an AT LEAST 10 year-old emp on the snare...i think i might bring in my old power center...but w/e...

So now after that i'm apparently known as one of the best known drummers in the school (within my music class) so thats not bad, and i might replace the other drummer (complete barker fanboy) in the school play...
to get it on this page...

Hello i dont think i've introduced myself yet,my name is Josh im 17 been drumming for like 6-8 months and only started drumming because theres hardly any drummers in my area but after i started i loved it,im self taught,im not a great drummer but have picked up a few covers "hybird moments","Where eagles dare","Some kinda hate","die die die my darling" all by the misfits,"Floyd the barber","About a girl","Downer","school","blew" all by nirvana "Welcome to paradise"(for the most part) by greenday,i've almost got "paranoid" down by sabbath,"angry chair" and "man in the box" by alice in chains. My drum set which i got for 100 bucks at a garage sale is a tko 5pc,i've recently added sabian B8's( i know there not great but they get the job done for me) to my set.I practice for 3-5 hours a day sometimes more sometimes less depending on what i gotta do.
well anyways that about sums it up.

Corkofski 02-23-2006 06:18 PM

I'm pissed off...my Janus is giving me some serious trouble...i'm gonna have to get an exchange goin on here...

Motleyguy 02-23-2006 07:11 PM

Go back to the music store, and be like "biatch please, this **** is wack!!!" then get a new one. And if they don't give you a new one, pull out a super soaker, drench them, and take one anyways.

Janeway 02-23-2006 07:39 PM

My teacher is awesome.
He sold his colour sound ride that had a huge chip out of it and a couple cracks elsewhere for $210. I'm going to miss that man.

derryk 02-23-2006 08:12 PM

Panopticon 02-23-2006 08:48 PM

...you live in Canada...

So anyway...i dunno what to do guys, i've run into a ton of problems with my janus pedal, all coming one after the other...do you think i should get a new one or get a regular double pedal?

If i were to get a regular double pedal i would have to pay at least $200 more on top of the cost of the janus...

rockindrummer 02-23-2006 08:49 PM

In victoria it never snows. It is supossed to snow here tomorrow, but it isn't right now.

DuckinFutch8 02-23-2006 08:54 PM

ETP: I'd just go with the same pedal again, for $200 more dollars it wouldn't really be worth it.

derryk 02-23-2006 08:54 PM

Haha. Keep taking the test. And whoever catch226922@hotmail blah blah, is, I'm gon kill you boy.
