Ah... What is it with bassists who play sax as well. I know at least three bass players who play sax on the side. Only one bass player who plays tuba on the side though.

twopelu 11-18-2004 08:58 AM

Yeah, quite a few bassists play sax. Odd, I think.

peeted 11-18-2004 10:06 AM

its cos bass very rarley gets to leed and by far the best lead instrument is sax (cos many bassists hate guitarists)

neal_672 11-18-2004 10:19 AM

I always used to want to play sax, but then i got a bass a few years later....

Hi by the way

peeted 11-18-2004 10:25 AM

id like 2 play sax but then i allso wana play upright bass, tuba, piano, sitar, decks and drums and i allready play bass, guitar and digerydo so i dnt think ill ever get 2 play sax

Rollo47 11-18-2004 10:30 AM

Yeah.

I've played violin, flute, bass, alto sax, bari sax, tenor sax, piano, and guitar at some stage.

By play, I mean with some degree of skill.

ShelBel 11-18-2004 10:33 AM

*drops in, waves*

Hey everyone. What's doing in bassland today?

Rollo47 11-18-2004 10:35 AM

Hello there ShelBel.

I got rejected by a bass teacher today because I was too good. It was the best self-esteem booster I'd had in a long time.

What's up with you?

ShelBel 11-18-2004 10:38 AM

Registration for next semester going on- the Computer Commons has been a ZOO. Feeling a bit depressed but I think its because of the weather (gray, no sun, foggy). At least the temps haven't been too bad, but all the same- I'd like some snow.

I'll be back in few, gotta go check printers for paper...

neal_672 11-18-2004 10:40 AM

Hey Shelbel, today i've had college and am now sat chilling playing bass and listening to Mark Lanegan :thumb:

Is it just me or does college suck?

peeted 11-18-2004 10:41 AM

in the past i have played violin, recorder (not ****ley), tuba, tenor horn, and chello

i don't know about college, but Mark Lanegan is awesome.

neal_672 11-18-2004 10:52 AM
i don't know about college, but Mark Lanegan is awesome.
w00t :thumb: you heard his duet with Pj Harvey on the track "In The City"? It's awesome :thumb:

ShelBel 11-18-2004 10:55 AM

I think it depends on whether or not you like the classes you're taking! I personally never had a problem with college, but then again, I was only doing generals heading toward a mass comm major (radio broadcasting) with a music minor.

I think, if I had the choice, I would go for a music major now and screw the broadcasting; there's no money in it, especially now with the likes of Clear Channel mucking things up.

And forgive my ignorance, but who is Mark Lanegan? *goes to google*

Edit: AH! Been listening to him and didn't even know it (Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age). Cool!

Spaceman Spiff 11-18-2004 10:57 AM

the entire Bubblegum cd is great.
Methamphetamine Blues is my favorite off of it though.

neal_672 11-18-2004 11:01 AM

Yeah Bubblegum is awesome, ym favourite is definitely Hit The City though...

As for college i lov ethe subjects it's just that there's too much **** work :upset:

ShelBel 11-18-2004 11:49 AM

neal- get used to it. The work never stops, even when youget OUT of college. :D

neal_672 11-18-2004 11:52 AM
neal- get used to it. The work never stops, even when youget OUT of college. :D
Thanks for the bleak outlook on the rest of my life :D

:upset:

So anyone up to much interesting tonight?

ShelBel 11-18-2004 12:15 PM

Someone please shoot me now before I kill this OSP student...

(OSP = Occupational Skills i.e. developmentally disabled... most of these students are very sweet and friendly but this one is just a grumpy cranky @$$...)

"How do I register?"

*sigh* You did it three months ago. Its not hard. You logon to the Registration website and follow the instructions.

"What's my password?"

I haven't the foggiest. Go have Registration reset your account, I can't do it.

"I need to take CPR..."

Okay, well that's a start... Here's a course schedule, find your Course ID.

"What page is that on?"

I DON'T KNOW! What do I look like? I'm the computer lab assistant, not a guidance counselor!

I am just SERIOUSLY losing patience. This guy has been bugging me for three days with crap about how to search for song lyrics and crap (How do you spell that? Where do I look? How do I find it?) and I have had it up to HERE.

Just shoot me now.

albinoblacksheep 11-18-2004 12:54 PM

God, this is so depressing. Just because I accidentally "skived" a french class (i was in the gym, filming for out french video homework project thingy) I had detension this week. I need to come in at lunchtime and clean the computers with a friggin feather duster...and I need to scrape the gum off the tables. :upset: I hate my teacher.

Tryxx 11-18-2004 12:54 PM

*Pops in for a bit.*

I case anyone hasn't noticed (or cares) I took a small hiatus. Work hass started piling up, bands are getting together again, college preperation and all that jazz.

Eh, well I just wanted to say, "What's up MX?" So...what's up?

MasterofBass 11-18-2004 01:22 PM

YO what up MX!!!!

peeted 11-18-2004 01:35 PM

my thumb hurts

ShelBel 11-18-2004 01:40 PM

I want a new bass... and a laptop... and the ability to have only one job and not work 7 days a week...

albinoblacksheep 11-18-2004 01:42 PM

Im listening to the national anthem of the Soviet Union...

MasterofBass 11-18-2004 01:44 PM

Great news everybody! My band's website finally got updated and they put my pic in!!! check it out:

www.woodsofarden.com/

I'm Stevo, but for some reason my name is put down as Steve (I'll work on fixing that).
And unfortunately I look smaller because they took the old bass player's picture out and put mine in, and for some reason I look like i'm shorter than the whole band. I also have the website set as my home page on the forums on my public profile. Enjoy!!

Espbassor 11-18-2004 01:46 PM

Bad news, WoW beta ends today! :upset: I'll have nothing to do :upset: :upset:

Wintermute 11-18-2004 01:47 PM
Im listening to the national anthem of the Soviet Union...
peeted 11-18-2004 01:49 PM
