I love lyric books. I can decipher what they're singing.

It's not really the quality of the vocals which is bad, I just hate the vocal melody. Everything else rocks though.

I like it too but the vocals are awful. Hetfield is getting worse on every album.

It sounded promising in the beginning. Lars took my breath away. The solo was quite nice, but I feel everything else needs work. I'm not worried though. After all, it is a work-in-progress.

This one is growing on me quickly, I like his yells more than his singing. His singing doesn't even go with the song. He should have just sang/spit words out like on battery.

Another song might be cool to proove they're heading in the right direction, but I hope too many leaks don't emerge.

Do you think this song sounds like a single? I don't, but they must like it if they are playing over all the other songs they have recorded.

This is probably going to be one of the worst songs on the album. Well at least I hope so. I know when Soad played their cigaro song, everyone thought it was great, but it was quite crap compared to the rest of the cd. But then again, Soad isn't metallica. :)

that song was pretty sick actually. Im sure vocals will sound better on album.

@ Pepsimetal: Both SOAD & Metallica are bland boring and aren't very talented. Though I'd actually prefer some SOAD over most tallica

What does everyone think of the bassist (I forget his name).
I've seen some videos of him playing and he seems pretty good? (Most talented in the band , IMO)

What do the folks think?

If it wasn't from a huge band such as metallica. What would your thoughts be?

Compare: I'm a Bodom fanboy. If AYDY was from any other band, I'd consider it an amazing album. Since past albums show that I should expect better for Bodom. I don't consider it such.

I wouldn't like it either way. Though the fact they sunk so low, makes me like it even less.

Rob is a good bassist, he just won't fit as good as Cliff did. It looks as if Metallica will sound better with Rob than Jason though.

fair enough, compared to what the band have achieved in the past, it's crap, but compared to other bands, it's still good music, and that's what matters to me.

i like the sound they had with Jason, plus i just think Jason was cool.

The thing I hated most on St Anger. Alright. I can deal with the vocals. (even though I'm a nazi when it comes to clear vocal quality). The snare drum = tin can . That's just annoying.

meh, i just trained myself to accept it as part of the music. if you can get past the production, it's really not a bad album. although the lyrics are nowhere near as good as they have been in the past, eg. on Invisible Kid. that song's good, but gets very repetitive.

Hetfield's voice from RTL->pretty much Load(especially up to Black Album) was much more badass then Serj's stupid bipolar crap.:thumb:

Now james' voice is way different, but I just cant stand soad in the first place.

Serj's actual voice is better in my oppinion, shame his stage prescence is pi[I]s[/I]s poor.

No its just that jasons version of the little section they rarely played live was boring awhile rob's was more true to the original, plus they played the whole song.:thumb:

1. I think it shows that Metallica have finally accepted Cliff's death.
2. It shows that Metallica has a lot of confidence in Rob(amazing musician), that means he's probably having a lot of work on the new album and the freedom to write.
