I find it funny that we're currently in WWII regarding page numbers (1948).

Sorry, I just felt a need to point that out. :p

-Gav
Actually we're a bit past, since it ended in '45. I noticed it too though.

bottlerocket 05-17-2006 09:01 PM

CRAP...you're right...39-45.

My bad. :p

I didn't take history my senior year of high school since I got all my credits done sophomore and junior year. I've long since forgotten.

Looks like my geetar is screwed up...

My high e string snapped and now the bullet end is wedged in the trem system and I can't get it out. I will never EVER use a guitar with a trem on it ever again  Such a waste and a pain in the ***!! Unless you get a set-up everytime even touching the bar is going to drop it out of tune.

How I wish I had an LP! :upset:

I have a floating trem.... :upset:

Double Bass Jim 05-17-2006 09:24 PM

Yeah exactly they blow big time man

I dont know how in the hell it got stuck, I guess i'll try using a metal pick with a point and dig it outta there. I noticed that EB strings dont seem to work very well with a strat trem.

ofDooM 05-17-2006 09:27 PM

eh..? i have a floater and i couldn't possibly pull that off...ive snapped a lot of strings too...

Double Bass Jim 05-17-2006 09:29 PM

Won't even budge a bit

Unbelivble... I was just starting to get back into playing more then usual now this happens.

Futuro 05-17-2006 09:31 PM

Just play some Numetal and use 4,5,6 strings :D

/Kidding heh

Double Bass Jim 05-17-2006 09:39 PM

Hahah yeah

I finally got it out! Used a paper clip and smashed it outta there. Wasted a new set of strings on this thing too!

Loyton 05-17-2006 11:55 PM

Just got done playin a large gig a bit ago.

Played like 5 originals, 6 covers (including lateralus) and 3+ improv jams.

Went well, that, and I LOOOOVE my girlfriends hair cut.

And people where totally amazed by our band, and there was a GREAT mosh pit during one of our originals. Roxored.

Futuro 05-18-2006 12:21 AM

Haha mosh during lateralus. Lets bang out heads to this bar of 9/8!

fixed

Double Bass Jim 05-18-2006 01:23 AM

That'd be quite a rig there

sweet_nothings 05-18-2006 01:32 AM

I scored me a gig as a drummer in a band. A very amature, crappy band, but that's okay because I'm that type of drummer

And I have to do my music assessment soon... Eek.

Drum Phil 05-18-2006 04:25 AM

Those drum sizes strike me as being a bit dumb.

Jim you should be able to use a sewing needle to push the bullet end through. My bass has one of those annoying fixed bridges that still goes through the body.

Corkofski 05-18-2006 04:47 AM

sup?

Drum Phil 05-18-2006 05:02 AM

New rise against album = *****
New less than jake album = **

Corkofski 05-18-2006 05:08 AM

I meant I dropped out. I was in the system for 10 or 11 years but only went 8.

I still managed to get a diploma and 4 ASE certs though ¬_¬

styler 05-18-2006 11:26 AM

you guys all suck, your all so happy to get out and im itching to get back in. ive been out since the BC teacher strike in november. ive been trying to get back in since then and they havent let me back yet. i wanna go back in september so badly...

Janeway 05-18-2006 01:45 PM

Why?
School is pointless. I should have dropped out in the 9th grade and home schooled myself, because I would be a hell of a lot more intelligent than I am now.
There is no way in hell I'm letting my kids go to public schools.

Once your out for a few years, and you work every day and go home and go to sleep, then get up, and go to work... day in and day out.... You'll wish you were broke an back in school again with a social life

Janeway 05-18-2006 01:59 PM

And what do you do, exactly?

I don't particularly have a social life now, so that worry is out of my mind.
I'm not worried about joining the work force now because I've got 5 years of college in my path and Mommy and Daddy aren't dead yet.

Janeway 05-18-2006 02:01 PM
Once your out for a few years, and you work every day and go home and go to sleep, then get up, and go to work... day in and day out.... You'll wish you were broke an back in school again with a social life
And eh...
School is for education, not social life.
That was the point of it in the first place, was it not?
If you want to socialize, go to the mall or something.
School hours could be shorter, classes more productive, and kids less stressed out if we cut down on the social things of school.

green242 05-18-2006 02:10 PM

Say that when you are out for a few years. And all your friends are gone. I do belive the stress, is a part of life. So if you wern't stressed with work in school, what would one do once they got out of school and went to work.. Ummm go nutz. And school is for socializing. It is part of an education, you haveto be able to communicate in a humane matter do you not? If school was so wrong, it wouldn't be done. Not only that, your parents pay for it

Janeway 05-18-2006 02:24 PM

I am so god damn sick of hearing that!
Everyone I hear it from is a sorry old fuck working a factory job and wondering where they went wrong. It's their fault for where they are. If they've got a shitty job, it's their fault for not finding something better.
I'm not going to get one of those jobs.
I'm going to have a fancy New York State education. I'm going to graduate from college. I'm going to work at a job I enjoy. And if I don't, I'm going to blame myself for being such an idiot. I'm not going to tell my kids to enjoy school while they have it because the rest of their life sucks. I'm going to encourage them to do better than I did.

If school was so wrong, it wouldn't be done.
Hmmmm...well, rape is wrong, but it's done every day.
So is depriving a countries citizens of their basic needs and rights so some beaner can illegally live life to the fullest, but it's still done.
A lot of things that are wrong are still done. It doesn't matter to anyone but those who are getting fucked.

Have you ever sat down and looked at public education?
It's awful. You sit in there to learn a bunch of facts to pass a test that old crotches in Albany thought up. You don't learn the truth. Text books are just packed with false information it's not even funny. Basically, they're just vague outlines of what you should know with no back ground information or anything to bring you to a higher level of intelligence.
You don't have the freedom to study what you want.
You can't standardize education. It doesn't work

And...HUMANE INTERACTION?!
Set foot into a fucking highschool. It's caked with social hierarchies based off of how awful you can be towards your peers. Cliques and reputations are the only thing kids are thinking about, and it's allowed.
It's encouraged.

your also gonna be one of those 40 year olds who goes to tim hortons at 6am, orders 2 coffees, and stays there for an hour and a half.

homeschooling is useless, unless you hire a home tutor and take away your kids computers, tv's, radios, and all that. no work will get done otherwise, i was homeschooled from halfway through grade 8 till grade 9, and i got absolutely no work done whatsoever. that was with a tutor as well.

Janeway 05-18-2006 02:31 PM

But you started at an akward age.
You had already been exposed to public school and how lazy it is.

My children aren't going to school at all. Period.

aznriceball 05-18-2006 02:32 PM

at least a quarter of my old high school m8s are at walmart. i find it hilarious
