Holy Camel Toe!

Plan B. 02-22-2006 10:36 PM

On second thought maybe I shouldn't post that video.

Panopticon 02-22-2006 10:38 PM

too late...its already been quoted:p

Plan B. 02-22-2006 10:41 PM

Damnit! Foiled again!

On a sweet side note, I got a book of some Rush songs transcribed, and a bunch of other books too.

I'm listening to 2112 and reading along!

Maggot Dream 02-22-2006 10:42 PM

That was vaguely disturbing.

Mx is really bothering me today. I don't know if it's just me, but every time I try to post, it freezes up. Damn servers.

what a great CD. 2112 is such a sick song. i actually recently read Anthem, which is the book peart based 2112 off

Maggot Dream 02-22-2006 10:48 PM

I've read a bit about Ayn Rand. I may not know enough about it, but her philosophies seem to be based on complete selfishness.

Rush is still awesome though. I'm listening to Cygnus X-1 right now.

Plan B. 02-22-2006 10:58 PM

Yeah well I've come to the conclusion that Rush can only be described as uh, musical brilliance. Reading these transcriptions these songs are like symphonies!

Red Sector A right now.

Maggot Dream 02-22-2006 11:14 PM

I like Hemispheres alot (song and album). Plus the album has La Villa Strangiato, which is the embodiment of musical perfection.

rockindrummer 02-22-2006 11:17 PM

2112 is a great album. It is the only one I have, though I've heard that hemispheres is really good aswell.

I got 12/17 on that survival thing. It was really hard to read though probally didn't help.

One of the best guitar solos ever

Maggot Dream 02-22-2006 11:45 PM

I know, that's definitely my favorite Lifeson solo. His solo's seem kind of hit or miss, like in Tom Sawyer. Great song, not so great a solo if you ask me.

Double Bass Jim 02-22-2006 11:53 PM

He started getting into the allan holdsworth stuff. Lotta pitch scoops and sillyness with the whammy bar, and alot of atonal scale usage. I dig the sawyer solo and the YYZ solo though. He uses alot of those egyptian/arab scales to GREAT use.

Maggot Dream 02-22-2006 11:59 PM

That's true. I like the YYZ solo alot, it's a bit more melodic than Tom Sawyer. Plus YYZ has those insane bass fills.

Hey, I guess this is a semi-introduction to this place, but I'll be around these parts often now. Everything else in mx has become boring to me besides the Sports forum, so since I've been drumming for about 7 years now, I thought I'd show my face around here more often...

I burnt my teeth...

And I feel horrible. My mom is off this week and I missed the bus this morning. She drove me with out much complaint, and even stopped to buy me breakfast at Wilson Farms. As I was getting back in the car, I heard a big rip, and I looked down to find a massive hole in the crotch of my 5 year old pair of jeans, which already have a makeshift patch on the inner thigh. I begged her to drive me home, and she wasted 1/2 a tank of gas and I was 10 minutes late for 1st period.
x.x
She's at the casino now, though. If she wins I'll only beg for half.

Panopticon 02-23-2006 02:28 PM

WOOT!...big news guys!...for our music class we have to do one public performance, so my music teacher asked if i wanted to play drums for a mass coming up...so i go to the practice...and play ACE (even on the crappy kit, it literally has 5 year old pinstripes and an AT LEAST 10 year-old emp on the snare...i think i might bring in my old power center...but w/e...

So now after that i'm apparently known as one of the best known drummers in the school (within my music class) so thats not bad, and i might replace the other drummer (complete barker fanboy) in the school play...

preemtivly happy b-day J man.

Panopticon 02-23-2006 03:55 PM

Disturbed...some crazy stuff...

Janeway 02-23-2006 04:06 PM

I love British tv shows.
:/
At home with the Braithwaites is my second favorite TV show, with Bad Girls being the first. Bad Girls has only got one more season until Nikki and Helen go away, though.
Hrmph.
