Hah. I hope the security isn't as strict there. There was this big sign for 'no cameras/audio/spiked belts/jewellry allowed' and they searched every single person. That was retarded.

Huber 08-25-2006 02:13 AM

I'm not gunna try and bring anything in except a money clip and my cell phone just to stay out of trouble.

blue3 08-25-2006 02:15 AM

Yeah, all I brought was my debit card and cell phone. I wanted to buy this huge Tool poster but it was 30 dollars..

It's funny you say that... early today my mind was wondering and I was thinking what would happen if someone just brought a small knife into the crowd and started stabbing people in the back at random...

Yeah, I'll write a review Moses. Just for you. :thumb:
Have fun at the Edmonton show. I wish I could go to the Edmonton one as well, cause Tool is that awesome live. The floor had seating so that was lame cause I couldn't see over all the tall people, so I just stood on my seat the entire time. The last songs they played were my favorites, Lateralus, Vicarious and Aenima.
You say it was seats? what the hell.

Rothmans 08-26-2006 12:43 PM

I seen some people talk about drugs a few minutes ago on this.

Well drug's in way's are great like ecstasy it really has changed my life for the better I am closer to some friends then I have ever been they are really something great to me now because of that.

I cant play guitar or anything when im on drugs I cant do a single thing I am amazed when I see people out of their head's playing music or anything for that matter.

Meth isnt amazing by the way I have done it and it wasnt great.

Ecstasy is probably the greatest thing for talking. Meth does make you talk back but yokes (ecstasy) makes people your long lost lover or something I have had the greatest conversation's. You suss out all your problems on it one form of another and there isnt a real point to look for spirituality with drugs it doesnt really work :/

Also heroin is the only physically addictive drug everything else mentally.

After being seated on the floor at the show last night, Isis came on the stage. The performance was excellent, and much better then I expected to be. Awesome band. They played wonderfull melodies with a brilliant atmosphere, which was perfect for an opening band for Tool.

Now before I say anything about Tools performance, let me just say this - Tool is the greatest band of all time. Maynard is the best singer, Adam is the best guitarist, Justin is the best bassist, and Danny the best drummer. Why? Because there simply is no band tighter and more talented together. They reached the status of perfection last night. The setlist was Stinkfist (awesome opener), The Pot, 46&2 (...my god), Jambi, Schism (..), Rosetta Stoned (one of the best of the night, the vocals were perfect), then Maynard claimed they recently invented the time machine, and asked us to test it with him. They then played Opiate, followed by Sober, which was awesome. Then the climax of the night... my favorite song of all time, Lateralus was played to perfection. I was nearly in tears by the end of it! I took off my brand new 10,000 Days tour shirt and revealed my older Lateralus shirt in honor of the song. Then they played Vicarious, then closed with Aenima. The perfect end, to the perfect show. The lighting was amazing, Danny was amazing, Adam has mastered the art of feedback and hard rock rhythm guitar playing, Justin has mastered effects and the bass in general, and Maynards vocals... have never sounded so good to me. This was the greatest experience of my life. Maynard made us laugh on several occasions last night, but you'd have to be from Alberta to get most of the jokes. Best concert I've ever seen, beating out even the almighty Opeth. I also bought a massive, colourfull 10,000 days poster. Expensive, but sweet none the less.

I could go on and on about last night, but I don't want to bore any of you. But if you want, I will. Oh and if you disagree with me about them being the best band ever and you haven't seen them live, you're a moron.

pencil 08-27-2006 12:03 AM

i saw tool a few months ago at Hammersmith,

in my opinion they seemed tired and 'just going through the motions'.
don't get me wrong, they were technically perfect, but that spark wasn't there.

it must be hard to keep that passion playing the same things constantly :(

i'd have loved to have seen them on the lateralus tour

Darkness 08-27-2006 12:06 AM

They must have been off when you saw them then, because the spark was more then there last night.

sounds great, im so glad :)
i actually preffered Isis when i saw them, they looked to be exerting themselves completely, you could feel their passion, it was incredible.

one of my highllights from tool was watching Danny though, he seemed to be thouroughly enjoying himself on his extended drum solo's. the man's a machine!

pencil 08-27-2006 12:13 AM

do you ever feel thankful that we are some of the lucky ones who can really appreciate music this good?

when people say 'tool suck', i'm slightly hurt - but more than that - i feel sorry for them.

ok, so they probably get immense enjoyment from other music.. but tool is visceral, spiritual to me, it really touches me both sonically and lyrically. i just can't see it happening with most modern bands.

the only ones i feel equally strongly about are one's which have passed, floyd, zeppelin for example.

apart from isis of course, im a huge fan of theirs, and i can near orgasm during their crescendos :D

F. That is the most perfect setlist I've seen yet.

And is ISIS playing with them tomorrow as well? If so, then  Shyayuh.

I've 21.5 hours left until I see them.

!

Kage 08-27-2006 02:14 AM

I'd love to see them, especially while they're playing with Isis. That would be an amazing show indeed.

But alas, I did not get tickets. And the venu is ultra lame and would ruin the entire atmosphere, thereby wasting my 50 bucks.

King 08-27-2006 03:14 AM

Who else seen them in Calgary on the 24th? I sure did, and it was epic...
Who else also headbanged the shit out of themselves when Lateralus and Aenima were playing?

blue3 08-27-2006 03:23 AM

I thought the same thing when I went to see them at the Hammersmith Appollo in May. There was something that wasn't as amazing as it should have been that night. It was still a good show but I was a tad dissapointed. And they should not have opened with Rosseta Stoned.
