Yes but you still have no point of being in this thread. It's the Metallica thread, as in if you're just going to bash Metallica you might as well leave and try making friends somewhere where you're wanted. And saying "they turned their backs on thrash" doesn't give any explanation as to why you think they suck.
I always thought Blackend would make a great video.
Iam to into Load/Reload at the moment, this week being playing it on the way to work and back. Gives my self esteem a right boost.
Yea, I've been listening to Reload a lot lately. It's really quite a good album. The only thing I want is more heavier intros. I tend to skip songs with soft intros rather than heavy ones. For example, most of the songs on Garage Inc. I've listened to have heavy intros (Whiskey in the Jar, Blitzkrieg, Die Die My Darling, Breadfan, Lercifal Fate, and then the exception Astronomy)

Sadbutrue16 06-06-2006 08:05 PM
Hmm yes it is still on youtube.

Don't know what Sadbutrue16 was talking about then.

BTW I'm uploading the whole thing to Google Video, hopefully they wont remove it. :)
Hmm they must have put it back up then. I clicked it other day and said Video has been deleated by owner for copy right infringement.

no you didn't, but the thing is on these forums...people are kinda anal abt flaming and trolling. so if you're gonna go into a thread about a band and then say "i hate ________" without a reason, you're gonna get it. just how this place works man, sorry.

for something a little more related to the topic...anyone else pick up their instruments because of these guys? i cant say i like metallica much now, but i still give em massive props because kirk hammett was the man who made me go out and get myself a guitar.

Hmm, interesting. I'll look for it, it was recorded no doubt. Actually here it is I guess:

Found it on blabbermouth. Recording is quite bad, it sounds pretty good.

TEST 06-07-2006 02:25 AM

I'm not impressed.

Lionheart1827 06-07-2006 02:56 AM
I'm not impressed.
The 2nd video pretty much dwarves anything on st anger so far.:thumb:

If the 2nd video is any indication of what they are coming back with, it sounds like they are going back to their older style of going off into those instrumental sections liek in AJFA.

Also add the fact that SOLOS seem to be returning, I am excited at this point, even from that shitty recording of it.

Dragon_Prince 06-07-2006 03:19 AM

Does anyone know the setlist of yesterday?

*seeing them tomorrow*

MRDuCran 06-07-2006 03:48 AM

The 2nd half sounds pretty cool, and heavy, like they've tuned down again.

nowitzki 06-07-2006 04:01 AM

Yeah, its hard to judge, but there are signs of improvement from St Anger. Hopefully I'll get to hear it myself on Saturday.

Kyle 06-07-2006 04:09 AM

Wow, a glimpse of new material at last. Actually sounds pretty great to me, cool riff, sounds like some cool solos are back.

Jev 06-07-2006 04:18 AM

I didn't really like it...
Maybe it'll sound better on the album.

Kyle 06-07-2006 04:24 AM

Yeah I know what you mean Flower Dance. But you got to remember:

A) It's a shitty quality live track, very difficult to listen to as it is
B) It's probably not finished, they will probably still change it around a bit
C) Most importantly, it's only a few minutes taken out of an 8 minute song, which makes it very difficult to judge. For all we know it could have an epic middle section which brings it all together.

Based on these points, I think it's promising.

Jev 06-07-2006 04:25 AM

epic middle section FTW.

Like with an orchestra and stuff and the most awe-inspiring guitar solo ever.

Kyle 06-07-2006 05:09 AM
epic middle section FTW.

Like with an orchestra and stuff and the most awe-inspiring guitar solo ever.
Blatently, with a soft interlude like in MOP. Then all of a sudden it explodes into a duel guitar solo by James and Kirk, and Bruce Dickinson and the revived Freddy Mercury. come in on guest vocals and sing growling metal vocals. The song then stops comletely, leaving only Kirk on stage. playing the most awe inspiring solo you've ever heard, before the drums kick back in, and it swings back into full climatic mode.

It's funny how nobody filmed that bit.

yeah .. *crosses fingers*

Even the sample audio from slayer I didnt like .. Hopes that will be better as well.

I hope the megadeth album delivers.

timmySmi 06-07-2006 05:58 AM

Was'nt to impressed with the first half, but when it got a bit instrumental it had quite a AJFA feel to it. Well download's coming up and I'll be hearing it via hundreds of thousands of watts blasting through the PA.:)

Thanks bro, nice find!:thumb:

Kyle 06-07-2006 07:15 AM

I've got to hand it to Lars, the drums sound pretty kick *** in this song. It immediately owns pretty much everything on St Anger, but it's tough to make a decision on it yet. I like it when it gets all heavy and instrumental, but some of the singing parts sound a bit odd. The one thing which I don't like is the length of the thing, I hope they don't make another album where all the songs have ridiculous length, that was St Angers main flaw. I don't mind long songs, but they have to justify the length.

superdigg 06-07-2006 07:55 AM

I really don't like this new song. the riffs are very St. Anger and the verses are pretty Load-ey. mehh they've got time to change it, I suppose. it's not BAD, just nothing special.

Father 06-07-2006 08:04 AM

And also ... metallica sound like **** live IMO .. So it could be better.

Huber 06-07-2006 09:11 AM

Are you guys kidding? That song is awesome. Even the blabbermouth kids like it!

I'm so excited for new Metallica now.

Chu 06-07-2006 09:24 AM

Heh, good ****.

Glad to see Metallica making decent music again.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-07-2006 09:48 AM

thanks nowitzki

Jev 06-07-2006 09:52 AM

That song is actually sounding pretty awesome actually.
Lars' double bass is cool.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-07-2006 09:52 AM

yeah I was a bit suprised

Kyle 06-07-2006 09:54 AM

Grows on you too, listened to it quite a few times now. I just hope they keep the drum sound similar to that live one, it's good to hear Lars play without his dustbins again.

Drone 06-07-2006 09:55 AM

It sounds good and is definitely better than anything off of St. Anger. They need to lose that ****ty guitar tone, though!

Apocalyptic Raids 06-07-2006 09:57 AM

Man, it's a low quality live recording wtf do you expect :-\

timmySmi 06-07-2006 09:58 AM
I really don't like this new song. the riffs are very St. Anger and the verses are pretty Load-ey. mehh they've got time to change it, I suppose. it's not BAD, just nothing special.
Yeah the verses have a very Wasting My Hate feel. still its a huge improvement on St Anger.

Kyle 06-07-2006 09:59 AM

A Wasting My Hate feel is by no means a bad thing, that song is such a frickin' tune.

MRDuCran 06-07-2006 10:10 AM

They played that on some tv show, it sounds much better than on Load.

James has that western cowboy 'tash going on too.

Kyle 06-07-2006 10:14 AM

They did it on Later with Jools holland once, it was excellent.

Defender0FmetaL 06-07-2006 10:48 AM

thanks for that link..really excited to listen their new song

Hmm, I'm actually starting to like this. That riff is pretty cool. The drums are pretty good also. The vocals sound bad, but they'll probably be better on the cd. Now I think the new CD will be better metal than load/reload/st. anger. It'll probably sound like AJFA and black album mix. And it has a nice guitar melody at the end, which kicks freaking ass.
