So I was gonna see them on the 27th with my girlfriend.

But we broke up.

So darn. :p Maybe I'll just ask her if she wants me to scalp her ticket?
There's a reason I bought only one ticket to go to Tool for myself. I want to go and experiance the band by myself, with no distractions what so ever. I want it to be the perfect Tool experiance. :D

ThePatient 08-04-2006 11:38 AM

I just got my tickets for the Sept. 30th show in D.C. I'm a happy guy right now. And what makes me happier, is that they're free. The woman is getting them for me for my birthday. Win. :)

Kage 08-04-2006 01:18 PM

The cheapest tickets for the Tool show in Houston are over 100 dollars.

Fuck that. I will probably never see Tool live, actually.

Daven 08-04-2006 02:42 PM

100 Dollars!! that's a lot.

Tool never plays around here so I'm probably in the same position. Wish I still lived in Houston :(

They Dont Come to NZ much either, I dont even think they are going to Australia anytime soon.

Syncratic 08-04-2006 10:46 PM

Browsing the Toolnavy site has led me to a singular conclusion:

These people are a new class of moron.

They are all pretty much the same people, a criteria is mandatory to join it seems:

*You must like Tool (duh.)
*You must adapt any and all phillosopies that the band members embrace.
*You must be agnostic or athiest. God's stupid and he's just a fairy tale, basically.
*You MUST hate Bush. This cannot be negotiated at all.
*You must hold the belief that 9/11 was a conspiracy.

Sorry about that...but a man can only take so much stupid.

Adam Jones is GOD 08-05-2006 06:20 AM

There's always sites around like that. Thats why I can read opinions on there, Kotaku, blabbermouth, etc.

At least on here theres an opinion for each side of the arguments.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-06-2006 06:47 PM

My friends met this girl from Holland, and she said she saw Tool on their Lateralus tour and got tix for 20 bucks.

Man, screw Holland. Legal drugs, cheap Tool, what else could one ask for?

:envy:

Syncratic - Screw that site, man.

Kage - Hate to hear that man. I got mine for 65 bucks; are the tickets in Houston on sale at Ticketmaster, or are you looking at buying scalped tickets?

Huber 08-09-2006 03:24 PM

Any of you guys members of Toolarmy?

After rehashing what you said, I think the least important prerequisite is the first one.

Huber - Psh. Are you?

Rounder 08-09-2006 06:50 PM

My brother is a member of Toolarmy, and it can be worse than toolnavy. The postings are so random and nonsensical its hard to tell that your at a band forum. The advantages of joining when it started was worth it. My brother got a signed pic with all 4 sigs and a nice shirt. Other than that its not worth it.

As far as Toolnavy goes, when the new album came out, everything went to sh!t. wait a year, and it will go back to the way it was, with much better conversation and exchange of ideas.

Oh, yeah, and I forgot:

*Drugs are the only way you can be cool and/or connect with a higher plane. The ONLY way.

<.<

Maybe?

Yeah. It's not that bad. The new threads are all bitching about ticket prices, but if you look at the main threads there's some good stuff in there.

Shi' no.

I've done some pretty "hardcore" drugs, and it helped me thnk alot clearer, but in the end, it wasn't really worth it, and I was just left wanting more.

Drugs suck for writing music.
And being cool.

But good for rambling so much that you look and sound like a complete douchebag.

I don't believe "thinking clearer" was the right words for that. Drugs distort perception and effect the ability to think clearly.

They can let you see things you wouldn't normally see though, and I guess you can reflect on that post-drugs.

That's the way I thought of it when I did it, "thinking clearer".

But the stuff I did made me paranoid as hell.

ThePatient 08-14-2006 07:15 PM

Anyone hear any rumors as to where in PA they're playing on Oct. 3rd?

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-14-2006 09:53 PM

I've given up on fhave a spiritual experience with drugs. Now I just do them recreationally and leave my spirituality to a sober mind all its own.

Yeah, I just came in here to post that. Awesome news though. They better have a Brisbane sideshow, or I will have a promoter to murder.

I also got a little giggle out of one of Blair's posts on Toolband. It was the first time I've been there in a while.

NO WUCKING FURRIES, MATE

This is for all our friends in Australia who have been sending emails (that's right, computers down under!) asking whether or not the blokes in Tool will soon be paying them a visit. Although we appreciate your enthusiasm, I'm sorry to say that at this point in time there are no confirmed dates. That said, unofficially speaking, if I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about Tool performing in one of their favorite places on the earth (even if you're past the black stump). So, how do I get my point across to you guys with the kookas on your socks? Okay, let's put it this way: Be more concerned about venomous creatures such as Sea-Wasps and Blue-Bottles, Blue-Ringed octopi, toxic snakes, Red Backs, male Tree-Dwelling Funnel-Web spiders, paralytic ticks, cone snails, and those as-of-yet undiscovered prehistoric hummingbirds that can kill a grown man (even if he's wearing an akubra) in three seconds by just looking at him with their beady black eyes. Be more concerned about that Huntsman in the family portrait hanging asymmetrically on your wall. Worry more about there being no more tinnies of lager in the esky, or someone squeezing ketchup on your Ponsonby meat-pie (or even worse, a life-threatening razor crust wound from your Mrs. Mac.) Worry about a saltie biting Kylie in that sweet *** of hers, or the bloke with all the gristle in his third pie floater shooting a fairy while you're trying to have a relaxing pub lunch (knocking the Huntsmen off the wall and into your Victoria Bitters... crikey!). Worry about a kanga darting in front of the ambo, about "Men at Work" reforming, about the price of designer akubras, about chunder on your bathers, about blowies on the vegemite, about your frigid digit while around the jillaroos, about running out of dunny paper, about a canary Holden, about the bunyip from the billabong, about the thingummy-bob you need to buy, BUT don't worry too much about Tool paying a visit down under. Yes, worry about kookaburras on your carpet grubs, or, hell, even about a dingo eating your baby... but don't worry about Tool while you're trying to push up zeds. Furphy?.. I think not... like a pimple on a pumpkin. So, hang on a tick. G'day!
Apocalyptic Raids 08-16-2006 08:40 AM

hahaha, that was good.

Dried Muffin Remnants 08-16-2006 09:17 AM

Back on the drugs thing... I'd say for the most part, drugs make everything worse - coordination, strength, energy... But they do open your mind to things you may never have thought of...most of the time they're just quirky and weird, but they can make you more open-minded. They won't change who are as a person, but they will help you experience things that you could never experience sober. In my opinion, music DOES sound better when I'm stoned because the texture of the song affects you more because when stoned you're more sensitive to the senses. Perhaps, you cannot apprciate the structure of a song as much, but when you like the sound of something, you'll like it even more high because it'll just seem more aesthetically pleasing.

Don't take drugs, they're awful!!!
Yeah, I just came in here to post that. Awesome news though. They better have a Brisbane sideshow, or I will have a promoter to murder.
Amen to that..

I'd rather they do their own gig and not the Big Day Out, but ill take both when it comes.n

dUSK 08-17-2006 03:14 AM

The more I look into it the more I get the impression that there will only be Sydney/Melbourne sideshows. Tickets for them go on sale on the 26th (I think), so I'm trying to decide if I should start planning a road trip, or take a chance and hope more dates will be announced. :(

Prince Charming 08-17-2006 03:17 AM

I just listened to 10k days tonight and I've never realized how ****ing brilliant that bassist is. Seriously. I was having multiple eargasms during The Pot. Wow.
