Nah, not me anyway. I don't think Soulseek is that good actually, or maybe I'm just too dumb to really get it. I've got all my stuff from DC++ and www.thepiratebay.org (using BitTorrent). If you think it would be fun having some rare Clash-material, I really recommend you to check this out. Or I can find you either at Soulseek or DC++, and you can download from my user list.
Hmmm. That doesn't look super legal. Actually it doesn't look legal whatsoever... I'll use it anyways.

I'm listening to it right now, and I love the people screaming and singing along. The song makes me want to scream like a 12 years old girl at a simple plan show too. I'm sure The Pogues did more Clash covers...we just need to find them.

"Wooo Woo Woooo"

Thanks Sean

CombatRock 06-29-2005 10:00 PM

why havent you been on mx latley?

Coma_Girl 06-29-2005 10:10 PM

I've been flipping burgers to get money to buy more clash stuff.

I think my friends finally got tired of hearing how great Joe/The Clash/The Meskies were cause they suggested we could do a "burning-clash-cds" party. But I got at least one of my friend into The Clash and The Meskies. He told me "I should have listened to you the first time you told Joe Strummer was great. He was a ****ing genius." :D

CombatRock 06-29-2005 10:12 PM

you have only had your job for 3 days. you havent posed regulary in a long time.

Coma_Girl 06-29-2005 10:16 PM

I try to get a life. Cause I need a life aside from mx and the clash. I don't want to waste my youth on the internet and regret it later :p

CombatRock 06-29-2005 10:22 PM

i only get on mx when im home from doing stuff with my friends. i have a stupid crufew.

slartibartfast 06-30-2005 06:15 AM

I thought we could have some kind of competition about the best Clash-tunes from each album. I know it's (extremly) hard, but it'll give a hint about what some big fans of the Clash consider as their best music anyway. My idea is to list five songs from each album (you don't have to pick every album, but you have to pick five songs from those album you pick). When everyone who wants to join this have posted their list, I'll try to bring together a list with all points. D'amn, I'm ambitious! :]

The Clash - The Clash (1977, UK and US version)
5p: White Man (In Hammersmith Palais)
4p: White Riot
3p: Hate And War
2p: I'm So Bored With The USA
1p: London's Burning

The Clash - Give 'Em Enough Rope (1978)
5p: Stay Free
4p: Cheapskates
3p: English Civil War
2p: All The Young Punks (New Boots And Contracts)
1p: Safe European Home

The Clash - London Calling (1979)
5p: The Card Cheat
4p: The Guns Of Brixton
3p: Death Or Glory
2p: Spanish Bombs
1p: Koka Kola

The Clash - Sandinista! (1980)
5p: Something About England
4p: The Magnificent Seven
3p: Somebody Got Murdered
2p: Ivan Meets GI Joe
1p: Police On My Back

The Clash - Combat Rock (1982)
5p: Straight To Hell
4p: Know Your Rights
3p: Ghetto Defendent
2p: Inoculated City
1p: Rock The Casbah

You can use this. It'll maybe help you.

No problem Andy and Brad, I <3 the Pogues.

And for the list of the 5 best from each album, is the #1 the best? Thats how I'll do it, in a little while.

And my mom is trying to make me get a job, so maybe I'll buy some Clash stuff :). No, fuck that, it not worth the responsibility/waking up early.

guns_of_brixton 06-30-2005 09:54 AM

You know what's bullshit? The Clash won 1 Grammy Award and U2 has won 17. U2 has sold around 40 million albums compared to about 6 million for the Clash.

The Clash pwns U2 a billion times.

you know what? who cares about that ****. We all KNOW Joe Strummer and The Clash are better than U2. I can't think of one thing where U2 beat The Clash. Who cares if a bunch of idiots think Bono is a god.

****, I hate Bono. I hate him.

CombatRock 06-30-2005 05:42 PM

joe > jesus > bono.

Andy is getting wiser day by day.

Jobs suck though, take it from this geezer.

I need to get paid to talk about Joe. Or just be lazy.

And to the new kid...Welcome! Clash bootlegs make you an instant star around here. And about the community thing, it's true, they need to have a Joe subforum.

I'm Steve, btw. But I believe Travis already introduced everyone.

Yeah, **** Bono.

He thinks he's Christ reincarnated. I don't think Jesus likes him much.

guns_of_brixton 06-30-2005 08:39 PM

Joe > Abe Lincoln > Me > Jesus > Terry Chimes> a piece of shit > Bono.

Just to put things in perspective.

Last Gang in Town is a great song.

what clash song has an easy drum beat? I really want to learn some clash stuff, even though I've only played drums for one day.

Want me to upload it in YSI?

guns_of_brixton 06-30-2005 08:48 PM

Just that one song. I don't have WinZip so when somebody YSI's a whole album it won't work for me :(. But if you could, that would be great :).

Haha a Clash tribute band would be awesome. I can play the Guns of Brixton on teh drums but I don't own a drumset :(. But there are no beavers in Texas so Andy would get lonely.

guns_of_brixton 07-01-2005 06:24 PM

Me and my band were playing the Guns of Brixton today and it sounded really f'ucking good.

Didn't record it yet, though :(.

Forest_Fire 07-01-2005 06:28 PM

Have you recorded anything yet?

I think I may be in a band that's actually going to get started!

Except, I'm the drummer and I've only played drums for a day. I've played bass for more than a year and I'm going to teach my best friend basslines I wrote so he can play bass. Then I'm going to get one of my friends who used to be in a ska band until he quit to play guitar. And a black guy to sing. I haven't told the guitarist or the black guy about the band yet, but at least I have a plan.

This should be in the community thread, but it's here becuase we might cover a clash song.

yeah.

I forgot to look up drum tabs for the clash, so I'll go do that now

guns_of_brixton 07-01-2005 07:47 PM

We recorded an original song, and I think its pretty d'amn good, no lyrics yet though.

But I tell ya, teh Guns of Brixton was sounding uber sweet.

Forest_Fire 07-01-2005 07:49 PM

Do you have it up on myspace or anything yet?

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8494733&postcount=26

sketchyjoe 07-01-2005 07:56 PM

I just called it like I saw it.

guns_of_brixton 07-01-2005 08:06 PM

Today we were talking about putting up a myspace for teh band. As odd as you might find it, we have a couple of songs that aren't absolute s'hit but no name yet.

But LETS PLAY ***** PING PONG!
