I'm looking for a pair of mini hats. I'm thinking either AA 12" Mini, or a Meinl Byzance set of the same size. What type do you think would be be most versatile, while still retaining a nice cutting sound.
|
I'm looking for a second crash, that has a deep, full, powerful sound, used for playing progressive metal. My current crashes are a paiste alpha 16 inch thin crash, and a paiste 302 16 inch, and right now, the 302 just isn't cutting it.

18inch HHX stage crash. |
I need a full new set up. Im going in for Paiste, damn I love those cymbals. Anyway, I'm thinking a 16" inch Paiste Alpha(two actually), an 18" Paiste cymbal of some form, possibly a Sig? Then some kind of ride.
Wuhan china's, and a couple of nice Sabian splashes. |

i wouldn't call it washy, but it'll be LOUD! 22-24" rides ftw (omg I finally used ftw for the first time!) |

Definately, the AA mini hats, John Blackwell uses them and they sound sweet. |
Mk, a question before I go to my local music store to try them out: are the aax-celerator hats versatile from jazz to rock?
|
Want a new pair of hi-hats, not to bright not to dark. Versitile, i play rock, metal and just other random things.
Thanks |
What would be a good ride cymbal that also sounds great as a crash. Sabian preferably.
/fanboy. |
My groove ride can seriously roar when you shoulder the edge, Chrysostom.
Also I think if you like the AA/AAX line, the AAX stage is supposed to be good for that. |

which soundedge the signature or the 2002 (price is not a problem)?
|
15" signature
|
15" signature
ok iwas thinking the same, but i wanna know why? (dont say because signature rocks or some like that) |
Because i love the dark tones with the nice chick they give.

Thanks
New Beats |
Whats the loudest, most ear-killing, longest sutaining crash, assuming I hit it the same force on every one. Not over 20".
|
I think the thing that you are lusting for is: THE CRASH OF DOOOOOOM
Well, it's loud, trashy, dark, and has a huge sound. |
Because i love the dark tones with the nice chick they give.
yeah, i was like soo close to get them for $275, :( damn ebay |

i have a question...
i have fusion hats, and the bell has this weird ring that id like to reduce, how could i do this? in other words whenever i hit it has a bit of a ring |

I've played a pair of 12" Mini Hats and thought they were great! Nicely high pitched and cool for effects. -DM |
What would be a good ride cymbal that also sounds great as a crash. Sabian preferably.
/fanboy.
The 20" AAX Stage ride has your name all over it. Only bad thing is the bell is a little small. Great ride though. |
I dont find that my stage ride functions that well as a crash, it still sounds very ride like when compared to say a 20" vault crash.
|
i have a question...
The 20" AAX Stage ride has your name all over it. Only bad thing is the bell is a little small. Great ride though.
i'd go 21'' though because the bell is a bit bigger, but that is just my opinion |

-DM
Awesome, I've never got to play a set, but they seem definitely worth getting. |

Yeah I liked playing them. Definitely would consider a pair after my set is "complete", just because I'm not looking for that right now. -DM |
i'm looking for a decently priced, clear cutting china and 16" crash that can hold up to Mars Volta style drumming, but still be useful when the volume gets toned down.
|
what's the sound of the 2002 22" heavy ride like?
